Become educated? Are you implying the entire general public must first acquire a medical degree before we can know for certain if v*****es are harmful or not? Umm, that doesn't seem practical. What would be practical is if we could get a straight answer from people/agencies designed and/or mandated to help us stay informed.
You say doctors 'like you' agree v*****es do NOT cause autism. Well what kind of Doctor would that be? Dr. of Physics ... of mathematics ... pharmaceutical ... medical ... which? Have you conducted extensive research in the area of v*****es and their effects on children? Or are you implying, that because you say you're a doctor, we should just swallow wh**ever it is you profess to know without question?
To simply state, "I am a doctor and I say v*****es don't cause Autism. Become educated!" just isn't enough for me. In fact, it means almost nothing. Your extensive education notwithstanding, I've come to realize most doctors don't know squat unless they're specialists in a particular field.
The general public has been duped for far too long in believing the title of Doctor somehow bestows untold wisdom and knowledge on the recipient. "We must believe everything the doctor says because, after all, they're doctors." Sorry, I've long ago seen through the fallacy of that myth.
Like every other profession on the planet, there are good practitioners and there are know-nothing quacks. Because we don't know which is which, we must conduct our own due diligence and question everything our doctors say to us.
To my point, the story refers to one Dr. Andrew Wakefield who apparently believes there's a link between stomach disorders, autism and the Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) v*****e. Hmm ... and he' a doctor. A doctor who, at least according to this story, conducted extensive research in this area. The story also refers to drug companies and governments admitting, albeit quietly, to the connection between v*****es and autism. And yet you say we should dismiss all that because you're also a doctor and doctors 'like you' say otherwise. And then you dismissively lord your knowledge over me, by telling me to 'become educated.' Well sir, Doctor, I'm taking your post for what it's worth ... zilch.
