Trump: Ted Cruz is a nasty guy whom no one likes and I might sue him myself over his eligibility
Who agrees with Trump ?
I like Ted Cruz but I don't think he qualifies to run for President. No way is he a "natural born" citizen.
I like both and hope they stop the squabbling and get down to business of winning the damn e******n!
Trying to take each other is a no show, its politics to meet your rival and cast he/she aside..They need to man together and kick Hill's butt!!!

Neither is Trump, unless you count bursting forth from a ruptured colostomy bag as a natural birth.

Hoping (or hating) and thinking are 2 different things.
I find it ironic that John McCain, who was born in the country of Panama made the same bizarre assumption.

McCain was not born in Panama. He was born in the Canal Zone which was legally part of the US at the time and both his parents were US citizens.

Actually, it was a territory, not a part of the US.
Panamanians born in the Panama Canal did not v**e for Senators or Representatives or POTUS because they were not citizens of the USA. John McCain was a citizen because his mother and/or father were a citizen.
You're in Tinhatville with this. Just like the Obama-Birthers.

US territory is legally USA for any US citizen. US citizen living there loses none of his standing as citizen.

That's right, but they don't gain any rights either, including becoming a citizen of the US.
Anyone born on US soil is a natural citizen.
Anyone born off of US soil is only a naturalized citizen if at least 1 parent was a citizen.
People born in territories (Like Puerto Rico) can't even v**e for POTUS, much less become one.. That is, unless they are a citizen.
The fact that Panama Canal was a territory is irrelevant. McCain is a citizen because at least 1 of his parents was a citizen.

And he is natural born because both of his parents were citizens and he was born on what was legally US soil.
Puerto Ricans can v**e if they establish residency in a state. They are citizens of the US.

Cruz's mother was a citizen, and he has residency in the US. The constitution gives no preference to those born on US territories that are not part of the USA. Therefore, being born in Panama doesn't count for anything.
****************
On March 2, 1917, Wilson signed the Jones-Shafroth Act, under which Puerto Rico became a U.S. territory and Puerto Ricans were granted statutory citizenship, meaning that citizenship was granted by an act of Congress and not by the Constitution (thus it was not guaranteed by the Constitution).

Both parents must be citizens, not just one parent, in order to be natural born. The whole point of the natural born citizen requirement was to ensure no divided loyalty.
