The reason Mayberry was so peaceful and quiet was because nobody was married Andy, Aunt Bea, Barney, Floyd, Howard, Goober, Gomer, Sam, Ernest T. Bass, Helen, Thelma Lou, Clara, and of course Opie were all single.
The only married main character was Otis, and he was the town drunk.

In the real world, Ron Howard married Cheryl Alley, a working actress in Hollywood. She also has written a few children's books, I believe. They have been married since 1975. 8-) In a 1986 reunion of the Mayberry cast, Opie was married to a lady named Eunice. :wink:
