Woke up this morning mulling over our current state of affairs, as I'm sure everyone here is, and the quote "hindsight is 20-20" kept running through my mind. At my age, I have plenty of hind sight although not much hind end left. I've spent most of my working career in gov., with a couple of start-up businesses thrown in for good measure. I haven't read any posts yet, but looking at the titles, this appears to be a good place to land for a while. Looking forward to many spirited discussions.

Having spent time working in government, what is your take on the current political battle?

Personally I think the Tea Party fought the good fight and I applaud them. The dems are making all the headlines with the liberal controlled media trying to blame the republicans. The public for the most part are woefully ignorant of the consequences. If I were speaker of the house,or Senate Id recommend the republicans allow a v**e and all republican members of both houses take a no -v**e (abstain v**e) and let the Dems own it lock stock and barrel.
I honestly believe they would win in a landslide once the repercussions set in.
That's assuming we still have a country left to v**e in, which considering how fast we're going down hill may be questionable. :?:

How so? I don't think I've ever met one of those "extremely right wing nuts, anti-socials redneck, ignorants war mongers before. Must be a new thing. I should probably get out more.

Defund the saleries of 535 members of U.S. Congress also: Our U.S. Congress is responsible for all the troubles we have since President Richard W. Nizon signed the law to remove the U.S. dollar from the gold standard, and the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank started printing f**e paper dollars to pay for everything regardless the U.S. Government revenue increasing the Federal deficit every year, and increasing the inflation we have now. Our U.S. congress shutdown the U.S. Government now but they don't stop the U.S. Federal Reserve printing f**e U.S. dollars and collect their own high salaries and perks with impunity.

I hope the Democrats in the U.S. Congress do not compromise with the right-wing nuts Republicans who never passed any laws in the U.S.A. history to help the low income americans who struggle to survive with the high cost of living increases (inflation) we have. I am sure the Republican party will pay a price next 2014 e******n for the shutdown of the U.S. Government and opposed OBAMACARE.
