Prophets are not honored at home.
This is one of the few ideas contained in all four gospels. Most ideas are repeated in the first three, if they are important. An idea only mentioned one time is less important. The idea is found in Matthew 13:57, Mark 6:4, Luke 4:24, and John 4:44. This is probably the reason the children of ministers tend to be secular when they grow up. Another repeated idea is listening to Christs disciples is the same as listening to Christ. This idea is found in Matthew 10:40, Luke 10:16, and John 13:20. One idea we can surmise is that when you teach Gods word to your family they will not receive it as Gods word. Those closest to you will doubt your words. We should stay in the word of God no matter what situation we find ourselves in.
