God meant for us to obey the 10 commandments

We can and should follow the 10 commandments. They are easy to follow and you have to be a special kind of stupid to desire to violate them. Why would anyone want to disobey their parents? If you are lucky enough to have a mate, why would you risk bringing a disease into a relationship? If you commit murder and get caught, you will do life in prison. Violating some of the commandments are crimes. When God is scolding His children in Jeremiah 7:8 - 11, the acts committed were violations of the 10 commandments. When Jesus describes what defiles a man in Matthew 15:18 and Mark 7:21 & 22, some of the actions are forbidden in the Ten Commandments. If you examine them you will see that the first four are between us and God, while the last six are between us and everybody else. This is why Jesus gives the two great commandments are to love God and your neighbor. Love gives. Love endues but does not lash out. Loves primary concern is making the lives of the object of affection better. It’s chief concern is what it can give, not what it can get. A love that does nothing is nothing. What if someone does you wrong? Should you retaliate? No, vengeance is mine says the Lord. I like to fight dirty, I let God fight my battles. God can make you see what ain’t there, believe what ain’t true, not see what is there, and doubt what makes sense. As proof that satan has deceived the whole world right now this nation is criminalizing normal relations and legalizing same sex marriage. We are degrading institutions that have been the foundation for every nation for thousands of years for the satisfaction of a few perverts. Love conquers all. You can chop down a tree and smash a brick wall with a sledgehammer, but you cannot chop water. If you love God and care for your listeners you will understand before you teach.

The Decalogue was written in stone by God himself and the commandments are forever valid. The rest of the law given to Israel will be adjusted to fit the times we live in. God will establish a new and everlasting covenant with all of human kind. It usually says in the Torah if a statute is perpetual or forever. It is also important to keep the law as it was written until the "messenger of the covenant" comes and changes it. Malachi 3:1.
