Obedience or Worship
If your worship doesn’t include obedience you are wasting your time. Jesus says in Matthew 10:36 that a man’s enemies will be in his own home but He says in Matthew 5:44 and Luke 6:27 for us to love our enemies. Luke 6:46 quotes Jesus as saying; ”Why do you call me Lord and do not the things I say”? If we love Jesus like we say we do and are as saved as we think we are then we would at least try to please God by obeying His word. We should follow David’s example in 2 Samuel 24:24 and not give to God that which cost us nothing. Too many people are divorcing. If we look at Malachi 2:16 we see that God hates divorce. We should consider the effect of our actions on people who need us. Staying together for the sake of the children used to be an honorable thing to do. Children raised in a single parent home are at the top of negative statistics and the bottom of positive statistics. They are more likely to commit suicide, use drugs and alcohol, and become teenage parents and less likely to graduate and get married and raise a family.
