Nadab and Abihu
This account is in the tenth chapter of Leviticus, and the reason for their deaths is repeated in Numbers 3:4 and 26:61. These were sons of Aaron, who was Moses older brother and the 1st Levitical priest. They were Aarons first and second children who were groomed to become high priests when Aaron died. What happened was they used a fire from another source to light the incense, for which God not only killed them, but forbade Aaron from mourning his sons death. God ordered no strange fire in Exodus 30:8 & 9. The fire was to burn continually. What we need to understand is that God meant for his word to be read, obeyed, and applied to our lives. Was God unfair to kill Nadab and Abihu? Does that question make any sense? God is God and does what He wants with His creation, and we are all Gods creation. Most of what people tell you about God isnt in his word. You should not believe what people tell you about God if He doesnt say it about Himself. God doesnt tell you where to park your car, or who to marry, or what job to pick. He has spoken in His word and this country would be a better place in which to live if we did what He said and spent more time reading and obeying the bible instead of policing it and saying things about God that He never said about Himself. There is more to life than pleasing the flesh and appearing rich in the presence of people who dont know you. We only hurt ourselves when we dont read the word of God for ourselves and listen to hearsay.
