Shortsighted

There are certain decisions we make that exchange short term gain for long term pain. Decisions like engaging in same sex relationships, to divorce when children are involved, to try drugs, to engage in sexual relations at too early an age, or drink too much are five, but this list is by no means comprehensive. We should consider the consequences of our actions. We should think before we speak or act because once we do or say something, it can’t be undone or unsaid. While none of us are clairvoyant we reap what we sow. The chances of being convicted of drunk driving are eliminated if we don’t drink alcohol. We can choose any activity but we cannot choose the consequences of our actions. I will discuss the folly of the above activities.
Same sex relationships - This has destroyed nations in the past and will continue to destroy any nation that makes this a practice. Homosexuality was widespread in Rome before it fell. Alexander the great was a homosexual. The backbone of a government is a patriarchal family. No one will take better care of the children than the parents. We have changed laws for institutions that have been the backbone of societies for thousands of years for the approval of a couple of insane perverts. Same sex relationships are totally unnatural. There are no gay sheep, lions, tigers, or bears. There are no homosexual felines, bovines, or canines. There are no lesbian cats, dogs, fish, frogs, The only species that practices same sex relationships is man. There are some in this country that believe that homosexuality is genetic and God created them to be homosexual. To them I would ask that if God created man to be gay why didn’t He do that with any other species? Homosexuals are unfaithful to each other. If a man is so self centered that he puts his own desires above God’s wishes, (God says in Leviticus 18:22 that He is disgusted by same sex relationships), he will not be committed to anything that will interfere with fleshly pleasure. Gay men are the largest percentage of people that have aids. Aids did not exist when I was a child. When it first came out it was referred to as GRIDS; gay related immune deficiency syndrome. When men with grids spread the disease to prostitutes it became known as aids; (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). Same sex relationships will never produce life. The wages of sin is death. Let’s see what happens.
Divorce - Divorce hurts children. Children of divorce are at the top of every negative statistic and the bottom of every positive statistic. They lead the nation in incarceration
and alcoholism and trail in college graduation and employment. Parents used to stay together for the sake of the children. It takes a man to raise a man to be a man. A woman cannot do it. She has never been a man, will never be a man, and can’t understand the things a man goes through. When a male becomes a teenager, he needs a man to show him how to be a man. Unfortunately most of us have to be the dad we never had. If you do your best, God will do the rest. All you can do is all you can do; but all you can do is enough.
Drug abuse - Those who do illegal drugs are destroying their own lives. The bible says sorcerers are going to hell. The word sorcery is from the Greek word pharmekeia from which we get the word pharmacy. What we need to know is those that use and sell drugs are living lives that are destroying this nation. In Hosea 4:6 God says His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Drinking can be controlled but no one can control cocaine. Some things are easier to avoid than overcome. It is easier to avoid that first hit than overcome a drug addiction. People that sell drugs will give away the first hit for free to get you hooked, and then charge after you have become addicted. They don’t care how you get the money. If you are addicted to drugs then you are going to have to steal. You may be able to hide your addiction temporarily but one day the truth will be exposed. If you have a job, you will be fired. You will lose everything you have.
Sex at an early age - It is irresponsible to do anything that may result in pregnancy when you are unable to take care of yourself. We all grow up and we come into this world as infants. Children should be children and adults should be adults. Children should not engage in activities that adults enjoy. Children need direction and guidance. They also need discipline and structure. Read Proverbs 29:15. They naturally like to play and they all love desert. Their taste and desires mature as they become adults. Children should not have sex with anyone. Early sex is a mistake. It teaches the wrong lessons when we have sex with multiple partners. It takes commitment and discipline to maintain a family. When this country destroys family values, the government wont last much longer.
Drinking too excess - It is a medical fact that a little alcohol is good for you. A whole bottle is too much and not a little. Alcohol makes you feel good. Some pride themselves on the amount of alcohol they can consume. This is nonsense. The way to build up a tolerance for alcohol is to drink. That is all that is required to build a tolerance. Nothing is accomplished when a person is drunk. A mind addicted to alcohol or drugs can be easily manipulated. This country spends billions of dollars treating alcoholics and drunks which is a waste of money. Some things are easier to prevent than overcome. All we should do is offer advice and consequences. If choices are made with no concern for consequences that will only hurt the person making the choice. As adults we should care for our children. We should show them the way they should go but it is their choice whether they will walk on the path or not.
