Every sin is not equal in effect or consequences. There is a sin not unto death according to 1 John 5:17. The worst sins are those that involve hurting other people. While we all are sinners, we are not all murderers. I'll admit to having a problem giving things to moochers but I don't cheat on my wife. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and according to Proverbs 22:15, foolishness is bound in the heart of a child. We all come into this world as children. It is impossible to grow up, and reach adulthood without doing something. As we mature we should sin less and less. We are all sinners but the sins we commit at 20 should not be the sins we commit at 50.

Good point. As we grow and mature as Christians, hopefully we are able to put some sins, even habitual sins and strongholds in our lives behind us. I understand this as God slowly sanctifying us. He says he will finish the work He began in us. I believe Him.

Sorry, that is utterly ridiculous. It is not about sin; it is about love. Yet every sin is equal in effect and consequences no matter how seemingly insignificant as missing a birthday. As Christians, we are about discerning soul from spirit, the finite from the infinite. Rules of behavior are poorly adopted in this perception. Someone who was severely abused has a diminished capacity to see the wrong they do. Love looks deeply, not closely as in judgment. It discerns what is needed to liberate this soul from its obsession. The sin is not what they do but what has been done to them.

Hey Fred. Flatlux has a rather twisted view of Christianity, but a few of us have not given up on her. There may be something in her that is seeking the truth. I do not know this for sure, but remain hopeful. So, proceed with caution my friend.

I knew something was wrong. Any bad idea she holds on to will only hurt her and those around her.

I don't agree at all and I don't think Jesus would either.

Is what I said your idea?

I am not saying that my "twisted view of Christianity" is correct but worth consideration. How is your view more valuable or proper? (I know the answer and have heard it a few hundred times in twenty years, and it never made any real sense.)

If the word is hid, it is hid to them that are lost.

My view is taught to me by the Holy Spirit while reading God's Word.
Israel is commanded by God to be a "kingdom of priests and a holy nation". Righteousness is not that difficult but holiness is. It is a life long process and I've been working on it myself for over thirty years. I think I've finally achieved it, because God answers my requests and petitions promptly and completely. I also hope I never lose favor.

Bless you Susan. May you always remain in God's grace and favor.
