Caretakers Of The Land

Treffery Deerfoot shares with us what it means to be a Blackfoot Indian and a Caretaker Of the Land in this video from the BBC Earth Unplugged Wilderness Sessions. Treffery is an elder member of the Black Foot Confederacy, a group of aboriginal Americans that once hunted buffalo across the northern Great Plains of Western North America. He is speaking to us from the land they call home now in Alberta, Canada. Im glad he is passing along his history and language to his grand-kids.
