Who should teach God’s word

With every other subject, you need training, knowledge and experience before you teach. If you tried to teach a subject that you had no knowledge of, your students would be miserable failures when they had to put their “knowledge” to use. The expectations will always differ from the outcome. Faith in a teacher with no experience is just plain stupid. If you have never driven to Dallas, Texas, it would be foolish to tell anyone how to drive to Dallas. None of us have ever been to Heaven. We can’t be sure how we get into Heaven. To teach math, biology, or chemistry in high school, you must have a college degree in the subject you want to teach. If you are an entry level employee, you are trained on how to do the job by people who have worked the job longer than you. But we listen to bible teachers who don’t display gifts of the spirit. Jesus likened this situation to a blind man leading another blind man. It is sad to realize the one being led has no way of knowing his leader is blind until both of them are in the ditch. By then it is too late. The prophets are being completely ignored. We talk about Jesus but ignore what he said. To understand any book you have to read it yourself. You might talk about it after you have read it. But you would look foolish discussing a book you never read. The only ones qualified to teach God’s word are those that have read and studied and have a working knowledge of how to apply it to their lives. God is in control and His will be done on the Earth as it is in Heaven. Read Isaiah 40:15 - 17. God was God before the United States came into existence. God was God before Assyria, Rome, Communist Russia existed, and He is still God even though Assyria doesn’t exist at all, Rome is no longer a world power, and Russia is no longer communist. In the mean time we should do the best we can to be as good as we can. If you feel called to teach, know from Isaiah 28:9 & 10 that God wants His word taught chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Read the word of God and let Holy Spirit speak to your heart. Until you have read the prophets and the whole bible to the point that it makes sense, you shouldn’t act if you know what you are talking about. People that promise results without effort don’t know what they are talking about. It is taught that God is more pleased with song and praise and that reading God’s word and applying it to your life is unnecessary. This is false. How can you keep God’s commandments if you have never read God’s commandments. The traditions of man make the word of God have no effect. God’s word is a shield. A shield is useless if it is on the ground when the arrow is fired.

You have selected the very best segment of scripture to demonstrate a very valid point. Only I would go on to verse 13, which points out just the opposite view. God said his people were drunk, and not understanding; and that He will speak to His people with another tongue and stammering lips, which is a reference to the Septuagint, which the Jews would never understand, and in fact, dismissed as "Just a bad translation from Hebrew to Greek."

He further stated that by the "precept upon precept, line upon line" system, they will be ensnared and fall backward and be taken. This is what the new testament calls "a stone of stumbling."

The Hebrew Testament was to lead the Jews to Christ;
"Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."[Gal 3:24-25]

There are three different words translated into the English
"Word;" They are "Logos;" "reema;" and "Logion," and if you look into how it is translated, elsewhere, "Logion" is translated "Oracles" with reference to the Gentiles, by saying the Oracles were given to the Jews for the Gentiles,

Yet, they could not discard it because it came into their possession from the hand of God Himself, who gave it to the Jews for safekeeping until the time of the Gentiles came in.

Look at how scripture portrays a great difference in how the Jews behaved toward their scriptures and how the Gentiles approached it -

TO THE JEWS, THEIR SCRIPTURE WAS A CAUSE;
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

THE JEWS TRIED TO CONVERT THE GENTILES TO THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES, AND DOCTRINES, AND CREEDS-
Galatians 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

PAUL STATES PRECISELY WHAT ADVANG\TAGE THE JEWS HAD IN BRINGING IN THE GENTILES -
Romans 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? 2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

AND LUKE RECORDS HOW THE SEPTUAGINT BECAMSE SIGNIFICANT TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD; Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

THEN THE WRITER OF THE BOOK OF HEBREWS WARNS OF THE FAILURE TO LEARN; Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

FINALLY PETER SHOWS HOW WE ARE TO TREAT "THE ORACLES OF GOD" -
1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I have been studying the word of God and trying to apply it to my life as long as I have been able to read. But I don't know everything. All of my writings are from experience, study, and research. I am equipped in gospel armor, but I'm glad you enjoy my writings. Unless they kick me off here I will continue to post articles as long as there is breath in my body.

Amen and God bless both of you. I also study my Bible daily. My Dad was a preacher, so as a preacher's kid who grew up around a bunch of other PK's and understanding that all preachers are merely men, I am skeptical more than most to preachers. I am very choosy as to who I listen to and am very slow and discerning before I would ever consider placing myself under another's teachings. I read the Bible in its entirety each year along with several other Bible and Bible related studies that I am involved in with a number of good Christian brothers and sisters. Of course the Holy Spirit reveals God's Word to us and is the absolute authority. It is good to see you men having these discussions here and it helps us who truly love the Lord to grow and hopefully will encourage those who do not know Him to want to know Him and surrender to Him. Keep up the good work men.
