How Jesus taught His Disciples to Pray
We should not pray for ourselves, healing, or salvation. These prayers make us feel good but have little biblical foundation. The thing you should notice about the way Jesus taught His disciples to pray is the words I, me, or my is not mentioned one time. We are all equal and the only person singled out is God. This idea of salvation divides us. It puts us in the mindset that we are either saved or lost based not on what Jesus did, but on we have done after we learn of Jesus. According to popular theory we must repent of our sins without sin being taught. If we don’t know what sin is how can we repent? Next we ask Jesus to be our savior. Never is it suggested to read the word of God and let the Holy Spirit speak to our hearts. In fact the bible is used as a prop. Instead of being a foundation it is just about ignored. Do you think they had dancers in synagogues when Jesus taught? Sermons are made up by religious entertainers that appeal to emotion and not to intellect. They use one scripture supposedly supporting the idea. Instead of listening to God, they listen to man. Oftentimes the preacher doesn’t know what he is talking about, and if you questioned the listeners on what they just heard, you would get nothing of substance. We have gotten away from living the way God says He wants us to live and praying the way He wants us to pray. We are all equal in the eyes of God. The bible makes no distinction between saved or lost. The bible contains no stories of a lost man who gets saved and describes his feelings and experiences after getting saved. In reality thinking you are closer to God because of something you did makes as much sense as saying you are closer to the sun because you fly in a plane. If you were closer to the sun you would die. Jesus taught us to pray this way in Matthew 6:9 – 15 and Luke 11:2- 4: Our father who are in Heaven, Holy is your name: Notice no distinction is made between men and only God is singled out. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven: Instead of us living the way God wants us to live, we look at Him as some sort of Santa who gives presents. But remember the scripture, “Heaven and earth will pass away but God’s word will never pass away”. Give us this day our daily bread but deliver us from the evil one: satan is supernatural but is criminally insane. For Thine is the power, the kingdom, and the glory forever: We will eventually realize that doing God’s will help us and we would feel better about ourselves. Amen: Amen means so be it.
We are all in this together. You are not saved while this nation murders infants in the womb. We should not be so myopic and short-sighted. We can choose any action we wish, but we cannot choose consequences.
