How do you search for silver?
In Proverbs 2:4 searching for wisdom is likened to searching for silver. How do you search for silver? Silver is a precious metal that is mined. You have to dig through a lot of dirt to find it. It is not an easy process but is you find it is very lucrative. Wisdom is the same way. Most people dont have it because it cannot be taught; it must be learned by experience. Success comes from making good decisions. Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions. God does not save from tribulation but through tribulation as it says in Acts 14:22. I am not trying to succeed in this age. I am just teaching the truth in Gods word as best as I can. The point is we should follow 2 Timothy 2:15 and study to show ourselves approved, rightly dividing the word of truth so we can be workmen that need not be ashamed. Every scripture doesnt carry the same weight. Exodus 21 through 23:9 was expected to be obeyed more than anything out of 1st or 2nd Chronicles. Obedience to Gods commandments while it will not save us would make this a better country in which to live.
