My gun is an innocent bystander. It lays in my nightstand in case somebody comes in, with a goal of bringing me harm. It never said let's go out and rob or k**l somebody. When I go out, it follows me around, with no intention of hurting anyone. It's very quiet and it knows what its purpose is. The criminal's gun was made for the same purpose. Even though his gun has no choice, but to fire when his master pulls the trigger. It will get the blame for the crime. His gun wonders, why do they want to get rid of me. My owner committed the crime. A smart lawyer, gets the criminal off, with very little punishment. The news media, liberals and politicians cry out, get rid of the guns. All the while the criminal, is trying to find another gun and planning another crime. Who is guilty here. Sorry enforced laws, lawyers and judges are, along with the criminals. Give the criminal his due. Maybe, it will stop some of the crimes.

Police are not charged with preventing crime, hey are charged with keeping the peace. To do that, they have to calm things after the peace is broken. Usually after the fact. If you want to prevent crime, you have to eliminate the desire for crime. How do you do that?

I know, let's give out "Good conduct medals to everyone that doesn't commit a crime."

Better yet, let's take weapons away from all the good people so that the bad guys will have a harder time getting them to commit a crime.

Or how about putting a cop in jail everytime a crime is committed. That will make them eager to prevent crime. They will love the extra power. We can probably get a discount on all the surplus N**i uniforms lying around.

Better yet, Let's all sit around and sing "cum-bi-yew" and hold hands, that way no one can hold a weapon.

Or we can all stop looking for an hand-out, get off our butts and take a job. (If you can find one).

Or put i***ts into Congress to solve all our problems with unworkable laws. How about a Universal Safety Law. That it is to be against the law to commit a crime. Neat huh!

It is the nanny state that creates the nipple suckers. When you have to rely on yourself and not get a handout to just keep kicking back, you get a group of useless, lazy, uninspired people that think the world owes them a living. No one except the infirmed (including the aged) should get a handout. If you are able bodied, WORK for a living. Even if it is less than minimum wage.

Oh and just an aside, have you ever been to Vermont? It is a beautiful state, filled with happy and courageous people. Not many, but what is there, are cream of the crop.

I was going to reply to this ridiculous comment, but it's so ignorant, and off the point I won't waste my time!!! Oh by the way we are talking about gun control, and violence. Maybe you should try another topic, Like i***ts who don't know that our economy is in the crapper, and getting a job is easier said than done. And Why don't you work for minimum wage, and still need Government help as well. Like the old saying goes walk a mile in their shoes! I would be willing to bet you are one or two paychecks away from needing help yourself. If they weren't -heh-heh-heh-why bother with patrols and all that? If a police officer suspects or sees a crime going down--they are duty bound and have sworn an oath to try to stop it-as in 'prevent' the crime from happening! And-been there done that!
As for gun control-it simply does not work! A spectacular if not controversial and on the money scientific analysis -in fact does exist. Read Prof. Lott's 'More Guns Less Crime' second edition. Don't have to read the whole thing-just the prologue. And despite the critics-his work (and several others)continues to confound 'pointy headed ivory tower nay-sayers'. Pssst--yesterday-100 million--again-100 million American gun owners DID NOT use their guns to commit a crime! Why do all the laws 'they' (the either ignorant or just plan unwilling to see the t***h) wanna pass laws that seem to affect only lawful gun owners? Pssst-there are literally thousands of laws currently on the books--use em to come down hard on the bad guys-not on me and other law abiding owners and users! And you are gonna love this-(at the risk of being a little verbose)--but consider this--The second amendment to the Constitution is a 'LIBERAL' idea! For citizens to own guns is practically unheard of in history. In fact, there are numerous examples where just being caught with a 'gun'-meant summary execution under many 'governments'. As in you were shot or k**led on the spot. Those were conservative governments and people doing the k*****g were not LIBERALS! So here in America along with the rest of our very-very liberal Constitution, we get to own guns to prevent tyranny and all that. Tyranny is CONSERVATIVE--Democracy is LIBERAL--who woulda thunk it? So does ya still wanna be one??--heh-heh-heh-. It is past time for 'us' (and here I mean Liberals) to see (and defend) the issue from the right perspective. The gun issue should be 'owned' by us Liberals--the same people it was intended to protect right from the get go!
