Both Democrats and Republican bow to the corporations that fund them, but how are the scales tipped?

Of the people, by the people for the people:

or

Of the corporations, by the corporation, for the corporations:

Dems 70% people 30% corporations
Reps 10% people 90% corporations

What do you think?

I think your figures are off. Last two e******ns, Democrats received slightly more corporate donations than Republicans. Before that, I don't have the figures.

Aside from donations, look at the legislation they support.

Between corporations, unions and superpacs maybe 2% of Washington politicians may actually give a s**t about what's best for the nation

I think you know not what you speak of. There have been innumerable reports that corporations hedge their bets by donating to both.

The Democrats certainly talk a god game; however, spend a lot of time at VERY high ticket per plate dinners with Hollywood and New York business people.

I think you are one of those insanely jealous, grossly uninformed people who despise anything or anybody who has been successful in private enterprise.
You despise those who sign your paycheck.

I don't like paying taxes any more than anyone else. However, there should be some concept of fairness. CEO's getting tens of millions of dollars to run companies into the ground while paying workers so little that the need government hand outs to survive is not "Fair and Balanced."

Or competitive. I have offered to run several companies into the ground, with a written guarantee I can do it twice as fast for half as much bonus.

What you describe is a symptom of a far larger problem, but I agree with this much; banks and corporations must be allowed to fail. The government has no business cosigning the bulls**t of a corporation by bailing them out with money they print, that we're already so far underwater on that we can't possibly avoid a crisis that will make the present one look like a picnic.

As a small microcosm of t big to fail and how to make them less big let me provide the following. One or two smaller communities managed to make the "too big to fail" branch banks 80% irrelevant in their towns. It actually started with a few churches. The church finance committees started looking at bank charges, interest paid, interest charged, etc. They went bank shopping and started moving their money to small local and regional banks and credit unions. They then went one step further. They started telling their congregants about the better rates, service and so forth . The congregants followed the churches path and moved their accounts, etc to the smaller local and regional banks. It was very effective. Can you say grassroots activism? :-)

Those are such nice words! I think if we are to make a change it will have to happen on that level. National politics have become too much of a black hole.

The evil genie took over. Of course they "are such nice words." Aunti said them, which makes them "nice".
