Bahmer, sweets, 4lb test will not do it...My bass was 21" and weighed close to 11 lbs...Fat little sweetheart he was...I used the stand 8-10 lb line weight and Fluorocarbon or monofilament line and then set my tension at medium...I liked mono line better because it was easier to maneuver, thinner, not catching on the lily pads as much and gave me that fight feeling..It stretches more too so you have to work a little harder when bringing them in but never lost one once snagged..
Also I'd use that same rig and head out to the middle for walleye but that rig did have the 20 lb test line, with weights of course..
Go get em darling, you will catch em for sure..Just be patient, they will comeeeee....

   but if you may get snagged to often I'd suggest the power braid line it'll cut right through any grass or lily pads,30lb test it has the same dia. as 10lb. test mono / 11 lbs. WOW You have impressed ME Lindajoy way to go young lady.

I never tried the power braid, I used a very light weight, more for casting purpose over the lilys, not wanting it to sink anyway, but had just enough to get it over the lilies without too much going under the lily..Did have that happen and did loose a couple because of it but overall, landed them..
The braid for that lake seemed too heavy, if you know what I mean?? Agiain, you would know better than I, I just got in the boat and went out along the pads, sitting/standing and enjoyinggggggg it~~
That lake is known for its bass, their size and being plentiful..My 11lbs while nice, was not like some they had taken pictures of...But Thank You........
