It is, of course part of a program to donate a goat or a few chickens to a third world family so that they can become self sufficient, eggs and milk help a lot. Over the years we have donated to this group but I wonder now if the goats would be eaten right away, thus defeating the purpose.
Gosh, I sure hope not. My oldest daughter had a pet goat she loved. We eventually moved and gave the goat to a friend who had about eight goats. I just met my girlfriend's two daughters tonight and one of them wants a pet goat.
