Today, in 1095 AD, Pope Urban II orders the First Crusade.
Both Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Lee were born today.

Cute. Bruce Lee born in 1940, and Hendrix in '42. My bad.

Interesting times. But the re-capture of the "Holy Land," [1095-1099] by the "Peoples Crusade" [as it was called], from Muslims, who were just getting started in their quest, [orders from Allah] for world domination. And that was just the FIRST "Crusade." There were seven more Crusades, and Christians (Franks), Jews and (Shiite, Sunni) Muslims fought back and forth for a few centuries and even Genghis Kahn gave the Christians aid; and names like Constantine and Byzantines and Tripoli are a big part of (Holy War - Jihad) history. Hendrix and Bruce Lee were kinda' cool too.

I love my little history lessons from Loki. Here's another for today:

On Nov. 27, 1973, the Senate v**ed 92-3 to confirm Gerald R. Ford as vice president, succeeding Spiro T. Agnew, who'd resigned.
