Nah, confederate was a proper noun when the t*****rs to the US gov't formed that group of states. They were shown to be losers. ;) ;)
In the 21st century the only time it might be considered a proper noun would be Confederated Corrugated Box Corp.

Oh Baby, I laugh at you every time you try to yank my chain.

See, I do provide an important role for you. Laughter is very important.

Likely your chain is cheap tinfoil.

Please re-read the post. I do believe you read it incorrectly. Really, AuntiE, I'm surprised at your carelessness in this instance.

Everybody has a role. It can change as needed.

IS is part of the verb "to be." I requested AuntiE to re-read my post. Evidently she didn't and you missed it also LA. It stated "it IS (referring to Confederate - which is a proper noun). AuntiE, you missed the first word which was "it." I then explained that Confederate is a proper noun and that is the reason for its capitalization. I entered the word "is" in capitals for the purpose of stressing that word. By many, the use of all upper case is considered shouting, which was my intention.

Do we have is straight now? ;) ;)

You still missed the overall point so you could nitpick about a trivial one. And while you were expounding on the meaning of "IS", you actually misused it in your last line. And you were going to explain irony to me. You're really a bore, you know that?

I just won't waste any time with you. It seems you're just enjoying nit-picking. Go away!

It is not necessary to respond to this post.

The confederate f**g has been used as a symbol of h**e for so long that it's hard to see it as anything else. Better to err on the side of caution than to have another Dalyan Roof going on a k*****g spree. Maybe of southerns had stood up earlier to the bigots hiding behind the f**g we wouldn't see it as bad but unfortunately it's been tied to bigotry for so long it's hard to see its use as anything else.

The point "IS" as bigots used the f**g for a symbol of hatred others stood around with their thumbs up their butt and let them. As such, the f**g is more associated with southern bigotry then it is for anything else. It is what it is, and sadly what it is is Dylann Roof not Auntie M's batch of wonderful cookies...
