"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

The left has forgotten this or just maybe this only applies for republican presidents.

I suspect in their mind it is a quote better left alone in the hopes it will just go away.

Not going to happen and Yes. They are pathetic

I won't say they because that includes all democrats and some do see we're way over spending and health care is a problem waiting to happen. It's always the vocal ones and that's what we here.

I am reminded of the quote attributed to Mark Twain (probably incorrectly):

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.

I think the Senator has needed to learn a lot about leadership and P**********l necessities. He certainly has got some smudges on his rose-colored glasses.

I agree. I think also that people are afraid of being demonized and called a r****t. The left has played that card really well. I personally don't care about anyone's "sensibilities" any more. Mine don't matter so why should theirs? Ted Cruz is the only person since Reagan who has done what he said he would do if we elected him. Godspeed to him. He has a long row to hoe!! I respect the man!

So you think Cruz has done something spectacular? How about those 230 Congressmen who v**ed this bill in the first place?

Do you think any of our leaners will likely read this one clear through and then find out who said it? I don't and none of them will reply if they do.

Went to Sam's this afternoon and while I was waiting was talking to the girl at the register who was black. She read my shirt and asked I guess you don't think much of Obama, no not much I said and she said we h**e him. Surprised I said h**e a strong word, she said he lies, he hides things and health care is a joke. So I asked 'how long you been a democrat' she replied live long but no more.

Ha! I've heard the same thing from a guy i see a couple of times a week. Owns a pharmacy big one in his parts, and life long democrat. H**es obama and several others. Long story, but we've locked horns a time or two over last few years. He's a good guy and a
customer, so it's been a struggle to keep my filter in place. (the one between my brain and my mouth).

I'm not a bit afraid of being called anything by anyone. They don't pay my food bill, me water, my electric, my anything. I do not like Obama, period. I didn't like Nixon either, nor Carter. That's two w****s and one black. They can only play the race card if you let them.

That sounds like Deneen Borelli who talks all the time about the Dems playing the race card. You do know that the woman is a darker shade than the Glorious Leader and h**es that race card. I wonder if they call her a r****t.
