Few days ago I felt sick and went to the Hospital Emergency Room, I stay there less than 2 days from Oct. 08 to Oct 09, 2015 and received a bill for $ 16,114.00. The Hospital charged $ 2,513.00 for the Emergency Dept. visit, $ 4,919.00 for Ultrasound heart examination, $ 640.00 for a chest X-Ray, $ 2,328.00 for Hospital observation service, $ 714.00 for Routine EKG, $ 219.00 for an injection drug, $ 687.00 for an injection of blood vessel protein, and $ 4,045.00 for several lab. blood test. I was lucky I have MEDICARE and a secondary insurance coverage and Medicare approved only and paid the amount of $ 1,556.54, and my secondary insurance paid $ 651.08 only and I didn't paid anything. If I didn't have MEDICARE coverage the Hospital billed me $ 16,114.00 and I have to pay that amount for the rest of my life. We need Medicare for all single payer with cost control regardless the income to stop the Medical Care abuses in U.S.A.
