Firstly, thanks for the compliment. I've never considered myself an intellectual but simply one who prefers to do my own thinking and decision making.

If you will note, all these articles are represented by republicans. I'm amazed Obama has gotten this far with all those evil- and selfish-thinking members in our government. What I said above still stands. All you narrow-minded and non-thinking people do is spout the same old stuff. How many of you have read that law? Few, I think. You'd rather get your great information from the non-thinking guy down the street rather than investing the time at doing your own researching and decision making.

Just look at what the R Party has done to one of its own members. They put Cruz up there to spout the TP propaganda and, when he does (because it didn't work out in their favor) they condemn the man.

Initially he (Obama) attempted to accomplish much in a bipartisan manner. Due to the Rep Party, he was unable to accomplish as much as he desired. This was due to the fact that that party had already decided not to back him in anything he suggested. As someone has already stated , the only thing the Reps do agree on is that want to "get" Obama. They have no policy but make one up (for the time being) depending on their next attack. I'm sure, to their dismay, he will be looked upon historically as one who at least attempted to do what is best for this country. That's what I call American and not those who will sacrifice the government for their own selfish need to further their hatred.

I both feel AND fear for you non-thinking followers. I believe the Bible calls them "sheep." I say sheep in the sense that if one leaps off a cliff, the rest will follow. That is not thinking. Rather it IS emotionalism and brain washing as from father to son. "My father was a Republican therefore I am a Republican!" No thinking involved. I find the liberal democrats - especially the young ones - don't fall for that line Perhaps you think of following in Dad's footsteps and thinking is a sign of respect. It means to me that you are taking the easy way out by simply imitating. That is and always has been the easier way. One doesn't have to THINK! For some - it does hurt their heads!

Alicia, none of us are intellectuals that I know of. The difference here between the political left and the political right is that the right believes in the US Constitution, via which our government is supposed to operate (but doesn't), and the left believes in their "own thinking" - if if "sounds good", then it must be good. Another difference is that the political left feels it has the right to castigate the right without consequence as it has done for eons, and the right is sick and tired of it. Not a one of us has called for the burning at the stake of Obama. The left did that to President Bush. Not a one of us has called for the beheading of President Obama. The left did for President Bush. So, let's be careful how we defend the left and h**e the right.

The political right wants Obamacare defunded because it is a horrible bill, is unconstitutional no matter what the Supreme Court says, and it takes the freedom of choice from us. I believe you have no idea how intrusive it and all of the l*****t policies are. The right does know because the political right thrives on individual rights whereas the political left thrives on trying to dictate everyone's lifestyle for him. Every law written removes some Americans' freedoms. We have 3 tons of federal laws, and you think some more will solve problems? WE ARE TIRED OF IT. How old are you, anyway? Maybe you're still in school and receiving a non-education education. If so, I am sorry for you.

Health care wasn't getting cheaper, your wrong about it's not getting better, but, it wasn't getting cheaper, because, of the socialist policies that were interfering with capitalism and the free market.

The only licensing agency for doctors is the AMA. They deliberately keep the number of doctors below what's needed, because, the resulting shortage keeps their incomes high. When you can get them to admit it they tell you they are just looking after their members, because, it cost soooooo much to become a doctor. They never talk about the individuals who have also spent the money, time and intern ship who are denied their licenses, but, still have the bills to pay for their education.


A farmer who only grew wheat on his farm for the bread that he ate at his table, had to abide by the rules for interstate commerce, because somehow, some day his wheat might somehow be sold across state lines.

But, insurance that people are looking for and want is forbidden to be sold across state lines, even if they find a policy that they want in another state.


In an area that has a lot of water front, you will find marinas. Many people that have bought their first marina, for the first time has figured out that most of the profit in the marina is in new boat sales and summer slip rentals. The carpenter shop and the mechanic shop, barley break even, if at all. So the new owners want to eliminate all departments that don't make tones of money.

The funny thing is, that people buy boats to use them. If they can't get them fixed or afford to fix them, then they don't want them. New boats don't get sold and then there's no reason to buy a summer slip rental.

Like it or not there is a cost of doing business that goes along with every business. There may be things and services that you don't make as much money on, but, eliminate them and your customers go elsewhere.
In capitalism, to remain competitive, you have to provide what your customers need whether you want to or not. Otherwise they will go to someone who does or someone will start a new company that does.

In this country, Drug companies don't want to produce certain drugs that people need, because, they say there is not a big enough profit margin in it.
Under capitalism, this is not a problem, because a smaller company that wants to get bigger would take it over and produce it.
The greedy companies would lose customers, over time and change their policy or go under.

But, because, this country is run by socialist and no-nothing v**ers, we no longer operate that way.

Now whenever a drug company threatens to cancel a product, we don't look to see if we've over regulated the industry, stopping new companies to forming that could take up the slack.......No, No, No! What we do now is subsidize the drug companies using our tax dollars to reward them for their un-capitalistic, uncompetitive and un-American attitude.

The AMA is a private entity that regulates anyone’s right to become a doctor. SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING HERE

To be an accountant, you get your license from the state. If you pass the test you become an accountant. Finding a job is your problem. ETC

If you want to be an architect, you have to pass the state examines and if successful, you get your license, finding a job is your problem. EFC

Electricians, Plumbers, Builders, hair dressers and even lawyers get their licences from the state and finding a job is their problem. ETC

But when it comes to doctors, they get their license from a private entity that decides how many licenses they will issue regardless of how many apply. IS THAT GOOD OR BAD?

No matter how many people are qualified to become a doctor, they will not be allowed to try, because the AMA will only issue so many licenses. IS THIS GOOD OR BAD?

How does this jive with a free country, inalienable rights, capitalism or anything else. fFR ME I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT THERE IS SOME MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE OR SK**L

We have a commerce clause, in the Constitution, to promote commerce and keep the states from withholding resources from each other and interfering with the prosperity of the American people. SO

But, the states have in-acted laws that will not allow the purchasing of insurance policies across state lines, making the citizens of any particular state a captive market to the whims of state legislators and wh**ever insurance company they approve. SO

We are subsidizing the greed and incompetence of the drug companies and when people went out of the country, to buy the drugs they needed, to get out from under the thumb of the tyrannical drug lords, our government wrote laws forbidding it. Literally outlawing the force of capitalism, this is un-American in more ways than one. I AGREE WITH YOU HERE BUT THIS WAS UNDER bUSH

Do I have to explain to you that just because people drive off the road into trees and survive, that it isn't really a good idea for you to do it and as a society we ought to consider putting up guards rails, in certain places, to help people stay on the road.

What a read! I'm shaking with anger right now. It's hard to believe there are enough uneducated people ,raised in freedom, who were willing to throw it away to prove they weren't r****ts. Harry and Nancy had to be ready for this when it happened. Everything fell into place for them. I heard John Dingell (D-Mich.) tell a local radio host that his father , Dingell,sr., had tried to get something similar passed when FDR was president, but he failed to get enough support. All it took this time was George Soros's unlimited funding, and a very gullible public.
