It is not the taxpayers responsibility to furnish breakfast and lunch for school kids because their parasite parents don't want to cover their responsibilities of parenthood.
Like Nancy Pelosi said "You don't go to church on Sunday to pray and prey on people the rest of the week." This is American and no one should have to starve, you have no idea why those people need help. 80% of SNAP recipients are the working poor earning about $14,532 for an individual. The House Republicans will not raise the minimum wage and have vetoed every jobs bill the President has tried to pass.
They even filibusterd the "Veterans Jobs Core Act 2012", that would have helped train Iraq and Afghan War veterans for jobs as cops, fire fighters and national park workers. I guess I can understand why they would not want to help train cops or fire fighters since the first cuts GOP governors make is to education, law enforcement and fire fighters. Why train more when you are going to cut their jobs? But, I have no idea what they have against training national park workers. Do you? The result of that action is 900,000 veterans on food stamps. Great planning GOP!
Others on SNAP are the disabled, seniors and 60% are children. This is when that so called pro-life stance became "pro-life until birth then I don't give a crap." The ads we use to see on TV with starving children and their bloated bellies will soon be a reality right here in America.
What do the House Republicans do? They write a clause that says SNAP recipients have to be working to receive food stamps. THEY ARE WORKING WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT THEM TO DO ON A MINIMUM WAGE. What is wrong with the rights thinking? I guess the next thing will be child labor.
Food Stamp Spending Doubled Under Bush, Doubled Again Under Obama

http://www.policymic.com/articles/14007/food-stamp-use-is-highest-in-red-states-the-t***h-republicans-do-not-want-you-to-knowThis is really a mind-boggler, the right is so concerned about fraud in food stamps, but not the fraud like Walmart making a 4.5% annual profit off of their employees food stamps. Nope, because the rich are getting richer; this has been common knowledge since 2005 and the House Republicans could care less.
It will be the Walmart CEO who has the big screen TV's, and driving around in the Lamborghini's, Bugatti Veyron's and Mercedes-Benz's. A person on food stamps gets about $4 dollars a day, if they had big TV's, etc. they got them before they hit bottom.
