New Orleans Music Legend Allen Toussaint Dies

Allen Toussaint, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame songwriter, producer, pianist, performer and New Orleans legend, died Monday night after suffering a fatal heart attack while on tour in Spain. He was 77. The Grammy-winning Toussaint was one of the Big Easy's most influential, beloved and iconic musicians, having penned oft-covered songs like "Working in the Coal Mine," "Mother-in-Law," "Fortune Teller," "Southern Nights," "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley," "Get Out of My Life, Woman" and countless more.

Quite a line up of hits there. What was he doing touring Europe at age 77? At least he went out doing something he loved.

Believe it or not there are quite a few active and touring musicians that are close to that age. Here are a few that come to mind. Tina Turner, Ringo Starr, Paul Simon,Little Richard, Bob Dylan, Grace Slick, Brian Wilson, Roger Daltry (The Who). Eric Burden (The Animals). I am sure if you Googled it you could come up with a lot more. Remember BB King died in his 80s. :-D
