GOOD NEWS

Happy Birthday and Semper Fi to all the Marines who join in on OPP.

Alabuck had hip surgery on November 3rd, I have not heard from him, but I am believing all went well. No news, is good news is what I'm standing on, and I know he trusts the Lord.

Armageddun has informed me that his dear wife has had a good week, and is feeling better than she has felt for a long time. Praise the Lord, but do keep them in prayer.

Slatten is visiting with his brothers in Abilene State Park, to celebrate the USMC birthday and Veteran's Day together. Keep him in prayer for a safe trip.

NPP has not updated any news about Pete and David, so we will keep them in prayer and assume all is going well.

We praise the good Lord for all who are healthy and well, and thank Him for His mercy and bounty.

NEEDS

Searching's mother passed away a short time ago. Our prayers are with you as I well know all the paper work involved, and clearing up of little details that require time, and keep her memory so fresh in your mind.

NanaSue is having many difficulties, moving, getting all papers filed for her husband's unemployment, and getting his disability straightened out. Do keep her and Tim in prayer.

Roxy will be having back surgery on November 27th.

Slatten's two sister-in-law's, Brenda in Abilene, and Janet in Amarillo are undergoing chemotherapy.
Barbara and Manny seem to be stable with their conditions, and Christopher is about the same.

Gapamen is in need of our love and prayers. Her daughter has had some other problems which we need to pray the Lord will help her heal from the emotional turmoil she is experiencing. They are living with friends and in serious financial straits. Please reach out with uplifting prayers, and PM to express your love, and concern.

LindaJoy's Aunt Nancy continues to hang on. Her passing will be coming soon as she now sleeps all of the time. Nancy's daughter, Susie, has finally accepted that her mother will pass. She will need prayer to help her through the mixed feelings that will follow the loss.

RockKnutne would like prayer for his precious sister, and prayer for his back problems.

Loki is another who suffers from back problems.

Docadhoc has a personal health need for healing post surgery, and thanks all for their prayers.

Bdamage has asked for prayer for Nathan (Buddy) Godwin. Nathan had a tumor the size of a softball on his hand and back, and was given 6 months to live, if he didn't undergo intense chemo. That was a couple of years ago. He and his parents decided not to go the chmo route, instead went to Germany to seek an alternative solution. Those treatments were working, but they ran out of money, and have returned to the states. Please pray that Buddy seeks and accepts alternatives for natural healing.

We have a couple of fellows looking for the right companion. God truly blesses us when we have a compatible partner.

May our good Lord bless all of us with Faith that overcomes Reason, in Jesus name I ask. Amen

Drugs are a scourge of our generation, drugs or alcohol, don't give up on prayer for anyone you know who is in need. All families who are affected by either of these factors, can use our prayers.

Be with our troops, particularly the ones facing enemy forces. Keep them safe, and keep them and their families in Your care. We pray in Jesus name, thanking You, and praising You.

Keep our churches on message Lord, the message of the Bible and let their 'business' side take care of itself. Their real business is to lead Your flock, have it be with the truth. They have come under fire, Lord. Now is the time, for pastors to take a stand and ALL Christians to equally stand with them. Let us NOT bow to POLITICAL CORRECTNESS and deny what Your Word says. We have now seen the killings of professed Christians, Lord continue to bless us with the courage to stand up for you - we will need it.

If the Lord doesn't answer your prayer right away, don't be a quitter, continue to stand on His Word, and continue to thank Him for your healing, and for the answer to your prayer. DON'T GIVE UP. continue to praise the Lord!

Also, remember, if you receive a word for someone, never just slough it off, it just may bring comfort to them.

Lord, first we ask that You forgive us our sins, next we ask that You come into our lives and touch us. Touch us Lord with Your healing hand, increase patience and fortitude where needed, increase our faith to know You are there, to know You hear us, and You care. Thank You, Lord for watching over each of us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

You will never know how much I needed your prayer. I go to my heart doctor today, usually I'm on top of the world - not so today, but I believe He is not finished with me yet.

Love you, dear LJ, and may the good Lord bless you with the strength you will need for Susie.

Beark, you are simply amazing. It takes a lot of time and hard work for you to put all of this together. I am so grateful The Lord has chosen you to do His work. You have a huge loving heart and such a sweet nature and are full of love. We are all blessed by you. Thank you for being you. I wondered if you might ever consider getting married again, but have been informed there is a long line. God bless you sweet lady.

God hears prayers, and He has blessed me with another day. I did end up in the ER. My heart doctor sent me over because my blood pressure decided to climb a hill when it should have stayed in the dell. It came back down after about 4 hours, and now I anticipate smooth sailing.

I am praying for you along with many others here. You are not going anywhere anyway. Who is going to look after my soul? Auntie seems to determine my physical well being, and that is often precarious, depending on what kind of mood she is in, but you inspire me spiritually. :lol: :thumbup:

MY friend, the things that do attain
The happy life be these, I find:
The riches left, not got with pain;
The fruitful ground; the quiet mind;
The equal friend; no grudge; no strife;
No charge of rule, nor governance;
Without disease, the healthy life;
The household of continuance;
The mean diet, no dainty fare;
Wisdom joined with simpleness;
The night discharged of all care,
Where wine the wit may not oppress:
The faithful wife, without debate;
Such sleeps as may beguile the night;
Content thyself with thine estate,
Neither wish death, nor fear his might.

Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey

ALAS, so all things now do hold their peace,
Heaven and earth disturbed in nothing;
The beasts, the air, the birds their song do cease;
The nighte's* chair the stars about doth bring. [2 syllables]
Calm is the sea, the waves work less and less;
So am not I, whom love, alaw, doth wring,
Bringing before my face the great increase
Of my desires, whereat I weep and sing
In joy and woe, as in a doubtful ease.
For my sweet thoughts sometime do pleasure bring,
But by and by the cause of my disease
Gives me a pang that inwardly doth sting,
When that I think what grief it is again
To live and lack the thing should rid my pain.

Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey

Do not linger there too long, the old saying by Stanley Godon West: “Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry alone.”

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:4 "a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,"

In other words, I would take it - crying may cleanse the soul, but laughter lifts the heart, for you and those around you.
Never linger too long in sorrow as laughter has been proven to HELP HEAL what ails you.
