Happy Veterans Day, Don - U.S. Navy, '64 to '66, Honorably Discharged with a broken neck and now I'm a Disabled Veteran at the WPB VA!!!
I'm not proud of what I'm about to tell you... But Its my story and I can't hide, I was a 4.0 sailor for the first two plus years, in fact took the test for 2nd class and passed it, waiting to put on the second chevron on, then Kennedy was murdered and I went to hell, drank way to much and couldn't seem to stop nor stay out of trouble... Because of past actions, earning two bronze stars, they gave me an Honorably Discharged, with a note I was not to be allowed to ship-over anywhere and recommended not be accepted by any other service... I didn't know that till '68 when I tried to join the Marines to go to Vietnam, saved my life I guess... Quite drinking in '78... Be Safe and thank you for your service... Don D.
