Hi, my name is Ray and I'm a new member. I joined because this appears to be a moderate forum of intelligent people.
Here is my first topic: I'm a product rep in the health field hence my question. I have encountered several people lately who don't want to become healthy! I show them the clinical research on my product and how it can assist in solving their health issues and they are not interested. One was on VA Disability another on SSI and others on other programs where they receive money if they continue to be ill. One person asked me: "Why would I want to become healthy? I receive $2,000 per month disability from the VA!"
It seems once people become ill or injured they are viewing their condition like winning the lottery or a retirement plan. I have had enough experience with this to believe it is a wide spread problem and am wondering if others have experience with this subject. Also, what kind of a financial burden, if any, is put on programs and the economy. Is there any data on malingering as it relates to public health programs?

I don't know diddly-squat about healthcare. I do know if someone tells you they aren't interested in your product/service, you should think about YOUR SALESMANSHIP not a prospective buyer's refusal to buy. My uncles were very successful salesmen for their entire lives and both said the same thing: You don't sell the product, YOU SELL YOURSELF. Think about it.
