Four Muslim men have been indicted for funneling money through Ohio to support Islamic terrorism.

Yahya Farooq Mohammed, Asif Salim, Sultane Salim, and Ibrahim Mohammad are the alleged terrorist supporters according to a 72-page indictment showing their ties to Ohio and the $22,000 they raised to support al-Qaeda's now deceased senior recruiter Anwar Al-Awlaki, k**led by an American drone in Yemen in 2011.

According to Toledo's ABC13, the men are charged with "conspiracy to provide money and conceal the location it was coming from to support acts of terrorism, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to obstruct justice."

They are accused of attempting to destroy documents and deleting e-mails. (That rings a bell.)

Court documents revealed that Ibrahim Mohammed even raised money to provide the Toledo Correctional prison with Islamic books for its library. Originally from India, Mohammed was an engineering student at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, according to the report. He moved to Toledo in 2006, married a U.S. citizen and became a legal resident the next year.

United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven Dettelbach said:

The people who were charged in the indictment funneled money through Ohio. They came from Ohio activity was conducted in Kansas and outside of Chicago.

These individuals actually worked together to deliver tens of thousands of dollars to this terrorist. By the way they did it at a time when Anwar Al-Awlaki was supporting some of the most notorious acts of terrorism around including the attempted bombing of the flight that was coming into Detroit on Christmas day on 2009.

Mohammed was arrested in Texas Thursday morning, which serves to highlight the fact that Islamic terrorists and sympathizers have been in our midst for years, roaming free, and finding ways to fund plots against the United States. Here's to hoping law enforcement can catch these individuals much sooner than they did in this operation.
