Colorado Man Goes on Murderous Rampage After 911 Dispatcher Lectures Panicked Caller on Open Carry Law

Here's how open carry laws prevent police from responding to k**lers on the loose.

A neighbor might have helped stop a Colorado man from k*****g three people as he roamed around with a military-style rifle, but the state’s open carry law apparently prevented police from following up on her concerned report.

Naomi Bettis called 911 Saturday after spotting her neighbor, who she recognized but did not know by name, walking outside his home with an AR-15 rifle, reported the Denver Post.

“He did have a distraught look on his face,” Bettis said. “It looked like he had a rough couple days or so.”

However, the 911 dispatcher declined to send police and reminded Bettis that Colorado allows gun owners to legally and publicly carry their firearms out in the open.

Police eventually did respond — but not until 33-year-old Noah Harpham had already shot two women and a man with the rifle that had concerned his neighbor at least several minutes earlier.

Authorities identified the victims Monday evening as 35-year-old Andrew Alan Myers, 42-year-old Jennifer Michelle Vasquez, and 34-year-old Christina Rose Baccus-Gallela.

Police responded shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday to a report of a possible shooting, and they found Myers dead and a fire burning, according to dispatch logs.

Witnesses said Harpham shot his victims one by one as they begged for their lives.

“It looked totally random,” said neighbor Matthew Abshire, who followed the gunman and called the police. “He walked calmly and collectedly. His demeanor was like he was having a stroll in the park.”

Police fatally shot Harpham about seven minutes after they first arrived at the scene, but not before he k**led his victims one by one — including a bicyclist who begged for his life.

It’s not clear at this point how much time passed between Bettis’ call and the first shooting — which prompted a flood of 911 calls.

But the case stands in contrast to at least three others in states that permit the open carry of firearms.

Dispatchers declined to respond to the report about Harpham, who was white, and reminded the caller, who is also white, that Colorado is an open carry state.

However, dispatchers in Ohio sent police to two calls last year involving John Crawford, a black man, and Tamir Rice, a black boy, who were each shot and k**led on sight by law enforcement officers — although they were each carrying toy weapons in an open carry state.

Another black man, Darrien Hunt, was fatally shot by police who responded to a report of him carrying a sword — which turned out to be a replica — along a commercial boulevard.

Ohio allows the open carry of firearms, and Utah became the second state to pass a law prohibiting cities from banning the carry of knives — which swords are generally considered to be by weapons advocates.

None of the officers involved in those fatal shootings were charged.

The store said he picked up the gun. Perhaps it was out on display. The change from one camera to another as you move about the store should make sense even to you. He was talking to his mate on the phone, hardly a typical thing to be doing while thinking about shooting someone. A BB gun with no pellets is not what anyone would use for crime. You do not want to admit your bias.

Cameras overlap or they are useless with dead spots..even you should understwnd that, wallworld has a very hi tech in store security...not buying the doctored video.
The guns are not on display, go to wallyworls and check it out, they are in closed boxes or clear plastic....walmart is full,of kids and the liability of a child getting it would be astronomical, they are far tooooooo smart fo that.

Did you know discharging an air rifle within city limits is the same charge as discharging a gun, you are carged with discharge of a firearm buddy, even here in Texas where guns are free damn near.

I saw no proof of him talking yo his baby momma....i think your anti cop and anyone but the black bias is showing! he played with fire and got his ass burnt, the cop was not charged.....why was that? Let me guess, cover up again right?

How about you accept the fact his actions got his ass nailed......like most of the rest of them, they may not have deserved to die...but when you are playing with guns against trained users of guns you lose almost every time, odds are against you so why even go there?...simple as that Moldy.

It looked like an assault rifle. Why should a cop place his life at risk?

There was no threat, the gun was not held like he was prepared to do anything with it. Complete over reaction especially in an open carry state.

Video collected from Walmart by police.

Non lethal weapons are not locked up in all states. Ammo is not available.

Texas is not a normal state, with normal people.

I saw no proof of him talking yo his baby momma....i think your anti cop and anyone but the black bias is showing! he played with fire and got his ass burnt, the cop was not charged.....why was that? Let me guess, cover up again right?

He was on the phone with her for half an hour, and when he was k**led. The cops are hardly ever charged.

The cops are so scared that they shoot first before even looking at the situation. The 12 year old in ohio shot two seconds after the cops arrived.

Ya think it may have something to do with k**l the cops and this thug culture that is being embraced?
The black youth has no respect for authority or the lives of others, and that includes other b****s, how much s**t do you think they can pull before they start getting k**led in a culture of violence they created?

They have brought this upon themselves and there is no one to blame but themselves, but like you they will not take any responsibility for it and then you cry about one black kid that got k**led because of situational awareness by law enforcement .

I do not here you shedding any tears for the ones k**led in Detroit or Chicago every freakin day, dozens on the weekends,,,,where are your posts about all that?
There are none because it was not done by whitey or a cop......you really need to look at what the problem is, and it aint the cops, an it aint whitey....untill you get your house in order nothing will change, in fact it will get worse as the thugs feel more empowered to try and take on law enforcement. You can thank people like B*M, sharpton, and muuzy.s**thead Farrakhan for channeling h**e to deflect from the core problem.
