My uncle used to say the same thing. He attributed the saying to Abraham Lincoln. In the case of BoJester, there is no doubt, and he wouldn't take the advice anyway. This forum has attracted a few truly obnoxious gadflies, whose sole purpose appears to be hurling insults until someone responds in kind, at which point they become the offended, rather than the offending party.

I think you will find a large number of posters who want the same thing. There are, unfortunately, some whose sole purpose is to attempt to create discord. A couple of months ago, one who no longer posts here, (at least under the same username) actually admitted he had been "recruited" for the purpose of disrupting attempts by conservative posters to have a civilized, courteous conversation. I admit I have occasionally lost my temper with these trolls, and reverted to their insulting tactics. I try to keep conversations on an adult level, but sometimes the attacks are so egregious I feel compelled to respond. Usually, unless their posts are particularly nasty or puerile, I try to ignore them.

Well, I am not a republican, nor am I a democrat. I guess the closest affiliation would be libertarian, but not that either. I tend to agree and disagree with all sides of almost any issue. I tend to think for myself, instead of posting links to someone else's blog. Sometimes I read something that someone said that is spot on, and don't mind using their insight in a discussion.
