Catholic Nun Explains Pro-Life In A Way That Will Stun Many (Especially GOP Lawmakers)
by Leslie Salzillo

In one simple quote, Sister Joan Chittister, O.S.B. sums up the hypocrisy of many in the 'pro-life' movement: "I do not believe that just because you're opposed to a******n, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."
This quote applies well to many Republican lawmakers who continue to introduce/pass restrictive misogynist laws against woman's reproductive rights. At the same time, the GOP works to shut down women's health clinics, with a special vengeance towards Planned Parenthood (#StandWithPP).
You don't hear of these Right Wing anti-choice extremists adopting children from unplanned pregnancies or putting funds into sex education. But you do see Republican lawmakers cut access to birth control, which prevents a******ns. You do see the GOP's 54 attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act and their $24 Billion Government Shutdown both to destroy universal health reform which protects the needs of millions of American children. Andyou do see Republican lawmakers cut government programs like school lunches for children and block government financial aid to families who are homeless and/or in need. No, the goals of these so-called anti-choice/'pro-life' hypocrites are not about fetuses or children once born, their agenda is about controlling women's bodies and women's futures. How great to hear Sister Joan Chittister, a Benedictine nun, define the pro-life/anti-choice GOP double talk so well.
An outspoken advocate for women, Sister Joan Chittister is a lecturer and author of 50 books. Holding a Ph.D. from Penn State University, she is also a research associate in a division of Cambridge University. Other subjects of her writing include women in the church and society, human rights, peace and justice, religious life and spirituality. She has appeared in the media on numerous shows including Meet the Press, 60 Minutes, Bill Moyers, BBC, NPR, and Oprah Winfrey. You can visit Joan Chittister's website at Joan Chittister.org. The photo of Sister Joan Chittister is from her book: 'Joan Chittister: Her Journey from Certainty to Faith,' by Tom Roberts.

Obamacare has been a Disaster from Day One and the GOP had no hand in it.

There is no hypocrisy in the Pro Life Movement. Sarah Palin lovingly cares for her son and Rick Santorum for his disabled daughter. That's why bothers the left. Your are so selfish you would never sacrifice of yourself. Easier to flush them down a toilet.

Interesting. Progressives, like this Nun, blame a******n on pro-life conservatives who don't adopt all the illegitimate children of the hedonistic recreational sex addicts creating them. Do you hear her addressing sex outside marriage like a true nun should? Jesus says no sex outside lawful marriage but everyone, well mostly everyone, believes God has no business in the bedroom or the back seat of a car. Are you stupid or are you really stupid? This Nun is a great example why the Roman Church is in trouble. She should be disciplined by her bishop. When I read the article I expected her to be an Episcopal Nun. The Episcopal Church is now just a cult. I was surprised and disappointed she was a Roman Nun.

Palin's daughter has another bun in her oven and doesn't know who the father is. Does that make three? A child with those genetics and that environment would probably be better off if he/she were flushed.

You give the same pathetic answer no matter what the comment or issue. How is the issue of advanced degrees relevant? Your hod carrying experience should be as valid as any educated person. Right?

The issue of advanced degree's was relevant when you claimed your education equals that of Dr. Carson. Are you trying to double down on stupid? Haven't been punished enough today?

You keep managing to miss the point. The point is, I am not competent to be president, you are not competent to be president, and Carson is not competent to be president. All three of us are apparently competent at something, but not at being president. I am sure you are very competent at hod carrying, Carson is apparently competent at being a physician and most professionals would agree that I am a very competent psychologist. However, none of us are competent to be president. Any questions?

No you are missing the point. You said he was mentally slow. And now you are trying to change the subject. You are overmatched son.
