We get a lot of ships in Coos Bay. They bring in invasive speices from japan and China. It may be just a matter of time.

Yup. That's how the Formosan termite, African k**ler bees and numerous other pests have been introduced into the USA. The USDA and many universities have spent countless dollars and hours trying to eradicate them. Same thing with introduced plants like kudzu. These imports unfortunately did not bring in their natural enemies with them and quickly ran out of control. There is a lot of research being done on biological control and it is a never ending battle.
