Who is to blame for income ine******y? I see nothing wrong with income ine******y. But if we MUST blame someone, just once let us place it where it belongs. The "blame" belongs with our government which is determined to control every breath taken by every citizen and which is determined to muck around with what it doesn't understand - business and jobs. If there was a way to prevent government from interfering where it has no business, our country would be financially vibrant, we would not have all this angst, we would not be financially in trouble, we wouldn't be in war after war after war, we wouldn't be funding most of the world's terrorists. If we could force our government to do ONLY WHAT IT IS CONSTITUTIONALLY ALLOWED TO DO, I maintain our country would be happy, content, more kind, financially well-off, and the most productive in the world. That is one big IF.

Of course the 47% of people paying no taxes is never mentioned. Of course the "entitlement programs" paid for by the upper and middle class and "given" to people who don't contribute is not mentioned. Of course the high tax rates for "middle class" people that keep them stagnant is not mentioned. Of course the government "regulations" that put companies out of business, thereby losing jobs is not mentioned. Apparently none of the blame rests with the government.

Bunch of crap!

you are a bit misinformed as the the lower classes do pay taxes , mainly sales tax , usage fees , excise taxes and other consumption taxes , and over 90 percent of the poor work and a lot work at more than one job . Their tax burden as a percentage of income prevents them from participation in consumption that would greatly benefit this country's economy . The poor are the largest supplier of consumer demand and if you want the economy to improve that demand has to increase
Regulations are not as worrisome as you portray it , money and investment are leaving this country because there is not enough investment opportunities

You are correct, however, much of the taxes paid are "returned" at tax time. They also receive "benefits" not available to middle and upper classes.

As far as regulations are concerned, the coal industry are seeing the results of those "regulations" now and will suffer even more in the future. Also, the regulations regarding "fracking" for natural gas will substantially raise those prices. The regulations on oil drilling and processing have already driven prices "through the roof". These things affect all classes of people, although some more than others. All the "Dept. of Energy" has done since it's inception is make it more difficult and costly to acquire energy which everyone uses.

Sales tax, excise tax and user fees are not usually returned in most states nor from the federal returns . The reason for a lot of the regulations in the energy field is because of the pollution they generate , during production and the end use

Actually, they are. Not directly and they are not listed as such but are loosely woven into the earned income credit only available to those under the poverty line. It was all part of the Reagan tax reform act of 1986 as way of lessening the impact of rising taxes on the poor.

none the less as the year wears on those taxes are being paid and they are all regressive , they impact the poor more than the rich , the earned income credit helps for about one month but for the remaining part of the year the burden remains

This is true, I was not arguing your point, simply correcting the facts.

Great, making it difficult to frack means fewer people can set their water hoses on fire.

And sales taxes are NEVER rebated with the earned income tax credit. Also the minimum wage has not been increased for years, and adjusted for inflation it is even less. A big problem in the US is concentration of wealth and also, especially since Citizen's United also concentrates political power at the top, and those people gin the system, with lower taxes, blocking increases in the minimum wage and inheritance taxes that favor themselves and make ine******y worse.

What about the corporate welfare that our taxes pay for? Monsanto not to grow things, GE bailout and negative income tax-these amount to billions-where is the outrage for that?? Foodstamps is about $4 a day..why the outrage at hungry people and not at greedy corporations? Because they can afford PR firms to pull the wool over your eyes?
