Romney goes public, spills beans on 'enemy' conservative media
Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts governor and failed 2012 p**********l candidate, went on a bit of a rant against the growing new media industry interestingly enough, on a podcast and seemingly pined for the days when traditional news ruled.
And a perplexed talk-radio king Rush Limbaugh weighed in on Romneys remarks during his Monday show.
Name one thing the Democrats did recently that benefited the country, Limbaugh said, citing the many examples of how Romney was attacked during the 2012 p**********l contest, by the Barack Obama campaign and with the assistance of the mainstream media. And Mitt Romney wants to collaborate with these people?

Romneys startling admission came during a recent Axe Files podcast with Democratic strategist David Axelrod Obamas chief political architect.
There was a time when we all got the news with the same facts, if you will. We had three networks we watched for the evening news. Most of us got newspapers. Everybody in the middle class got a newspaper, so we got the same facts whether we agreed or not with them.
But now, Romney bewailed all thats changed and not necessarily for the better.
[Now people] get their news on the Web they tend to read those things which they agree with, Romney said. [They are] not seeing the other side, not even getting the same facts [relying on] commentators who are hyperbolic in expressing their views on issues.

Romney also said the extremes within our respective parties are having a louder and louder voice and demanding more attention and immediate action as opposed to collective action, Breitbart reported.
In my party, there are more and more who feel they are more insurgent than towards the center of the party, he said. And I think that d******eness is one of the things that has led to Washington having such a hard time getting things done.
Romney doubled down on those comments on Sunday during a State of the Union interview on CNN. Then, he expressed concern about the rise of conservative insurgents and said: The challenge in our party is not so much that people have differing views on issues, as much as people have differing views about how to get those issues implemented. There are some in our party who think the best approach is throwing bombs. The problem with bomb throwing so far is that most of the bombs have landed on our own team. That doesnt help. We have Paul Ryan, for instance, thats willing to work with Democrats. I think thats a productive thing.
But Limbaugh expressed shock at Romneys view.
This is panic city because the standard rules are not working, said Limbaugh.
The radio host recounted how the mainstream media, driven by Obamas campaign people, told the story of the wife of a Romney employee who died from cancer as if the former governor, whom Limbaugh described as having impeccable decency, were responsible.

The Obama campaign 2012 [told] Mitt Romneys employees wife died because Romney didnt provide sufficient health care they ran an ad. It was totally made up by one of Obamas campaign people. They go and ask Romney, did you really not care? They ran news story after news story after news story. They ran TV ad after TV ad after TV ad, Limbaugh said. Mitt Romney wants to collaborate with these people?
Limbaugh then posed a question to Romney directly: Why is it after all of that friendly media that supported your campaign are [now] the enemy? Were the problem? We insurgents are the problem?
Limbaugh also said Romney was not alone with this, and plenty others in the establishment Republicans see similarly.
I really think that full-fledged real panic has set in because Old Faithful has not erupted. Old Faithful is running dry. The old stand-by is not working, and that is all of the donors money spent on these ads. The ads are not working for Jeb. The ads were supposed to vanquish Trump, scare people away from Carson, demolish Fiorina and extol the virtues of a Jeb presidency and a Bush organization to prominence in Washington. And it isnt working.
I cant imagine the donors are comforted here. Probably stages of panic theyve never experienced before.
