Maureen O'Hara, spirited star of Hollywood classics, dies at 95
Los Angeles Times | October 24, 2015 | 11:44 AM

Fiery red-haired actress Maureen O'Hara, who starred in classic films of the 1940s and '50s such as "How Green Was My Valley," "The Quiet Man" and "Miracle on 34th Street," has died. She was 95.

Her family issued a release today saying she died "in her sleep of natural causes" while music from her favorite movie, "The Quiet Man" — set in her beloved native Ireland and costarring John Wayne — played in the background.

R.I.P. In memory of some of her old pirate movies, all I can add is "Fair Winds and Following Seas."

I'll be honest, I didn't even know she was still alive. She sure was smokin' in her day!

I thought she had died a long time ago also? She sure stayed out of the lime light. She was one of the few left from the golden era. Not many left now.

A great movie star is gone but not forgotten. She also wrote an excellent autobiography.
