I had a deal like that at Philadelphia,,,last time I came home,,,, the cubscouts and brownies,,,, had come out to meet us,,,, we were separated by a cordone....

Two old black women,,,, were watching us come in,,,, and one said,,,, "Oh,,, I dont suppose its ok,, to hug them,,,:,, I said,, "Sure it is,,,, you can hug on these troops all you want," as I flipped the cordon off,,, and the crowds melted together,,,, This big,,, TSA Agent,,, comes over to me,,,, and says "Sir,,,youre a bad influence.." Thought he was gonna start bawling.... I just said,,, "Its good to be home son,,, its good."

Great idea. With NPPs permission I think I will join her in the hugging department.

I traveled frequently and whenever I came upon a soldier, male or female I was always compelled to hug them and say Thank You...I'd say Thank You first and then or tell them ok, now its hug time...

Never turned down always hugged right back....Its an amazing feel good gesture and also gave me that one little second to ask our Lord above to watch over them..I'd say it to myself quietly so they did not hear it... I still do it and will..

This little gem here is rather amazing, given how long she has done her hugs of Thank You...Bravo to her...

Good morning Linda! :D
I don't get a lot of hugs, but I do shake a lot of hands. I also do the same with law enforcement officers. Many of the cops seem truly surprised, and grateful for the gesture. That is kind of sad to me.

We have one nephew in the police dept., and another who is doing an internship with the sheriffs dept. At 18 he has the sheriffs depts in two counties fighting over him. He went through their shoot/don't shoot course yesterday, and aced it! We are all rather proud of him. And who says raising kids around guns is a bad thing? Pffft!!
