Snowden Responds to Hillarys Criticisms: T***h Should Matter in Politics Ken Meyer,
Edward Snowden spoke via satellite at a privacy lecture at New Yorks Bard College, where he was asked to respond to Hillary Clintons recent comments that he should return to America and face the music for what hes done.
The Intercept noted that ever since he came up during the Democratic Debate, Clinton has been saying that Snowden couldve taken NSAs spying public without breaking any laws if he accepted legal protections for whistleblowers. To this, Snowden said at the conference that Clintons argument was false and reminded her that t***h and courage should matter in politics.
There is, in many ways, a lack of political courage in the established class that we expect to champion [our rights], Snowden said. Everyone knows we need change. And we have been aggrieved and in many ways misled by political leaders in the past.

Snowden realizes that whether or not a whistleblower is protected as guaranteed by law is pretty much of a crapshoot, that depends on whom you blew the whistle.

I expect that if Mr.Snowden had chosen to be a legal whistleblower we would never have heard his name and his whereabouts would be unknown to the American public.

I think it is ridiculous that blowing a whistle on government wrongdoing requires special protection. Concerning "legal" whistleblowing, the degree of protection you receive depends on who you embarass. There have been other whistleblowers who got nailed, one way or another, as in having their careers stop in place, harassment, that sort of thing. Nothing overt.
Even worse,,,,, that the protection had to come from the Kremlin,,,, since it isnt available from commisar clinton
