More and more in our globalized economy, corporations exercise enormous power over our lives. They polluted our air, poison our water, and exploit workers. But because of their massive financial support for political campaigns, lobbying efforts in U.S. Congress, and multi-million dollars political contributions, there is little or no accountability for their actions.

So who controls CEO pay? Not the Government. It's the board of directors who hire, fire and set pay and benefits for their CEO's. How do you get on a board? Buy sufficient stock in that company or companies.

In other words, it's the very rich who set the pay for CEO's - and they DON'T use their own money.

It would be easy to fix the problem make a law that any executive compensation that exceeds ten times the pay of the person at the bottom of the pay scale in the company cannot be written off as an expense and is taxed at 50%.

Whining of a liberal , probably a union member who would rather whine about being "mistreated" rather than apply himself and advance with theunlimited opportunities provided by capitalistic free enterprise.

Ipnmajor: You are very smart, you know all about corporations, but you don't know that they operate without accountability to the public. They get away polluting the air, poisoning our communities, endangering the health of workers and consumers, and corrupting our political system with big political campaign contributions. We American have to fight back v****g on e******n time for the right person. Use your brain before you v**e.

Think: ' F*****m', ' Lobbiests'
Military Industrial Complex like Eisenhower warned us about in his Farewell Speech in 1961, if any of you ' youngsters' were alive back then.
I was, along with others here on OPP.
At age 23 then,in College, remember the speech quite well. (:

Only a foool thinks that the government is here to herlp you. What food doesthe government create" What computer, electric light, galllon of gas, auto, book, tire, pencil or pen, furnature, aircraft, or asy useable product. The answer is they do none of these things. They, for the most part, make these products cost more. By a considerable amount. Rememberr for every billion we send to government 500,000,000 is WASTED. Goes to no show, do nothing, do counter productive things. do partizan sniping, spying, commit fraud, extortion, follow brain dead theories, force unwanted equipment on the military and deny equipment they want. They long since have spiralled out of control. Want to see Hillary's emaiil intact and unredacted? The Chinese, N and S Koreans, Germany, Russia, Israel, England and others have them. Only our citizens are denied access.
Our government has lost sight of their purpose, to PROVIDE for the mutual defence and promote the general welfare. NOT the exact opposite! Hillary and Bernie are telling everyone who will listen are telling you they will double down on all the most damaging io our economies woes. BTW, the robber barrons, the monopolists are gone from from our economies since the lare 19th and early 20th centuries. Modern monopolies and trusts are created by government these days, and that started with the FDR administration. Even today, you cannot start a new wheat farm, this year rasin producers won a case that stopped government siezing 1/3 of their output with no compensation, since the 1940's!
Our first polution controll law was effective in 1898, a time that many nations were not yet fully into the age of Iron. The Cayahoga River that in the late 19th and early 20th century caught fire from time to time from chemical polution has been clean enough these last 30 years to support the fish that had been k**led by polution berfore. We are long past uncontrolled pollution, and comparting the USA with nations like China India and Russia who are the modern polluters is wrong.
