We citizens are our own worst enemy as we go against the grain of my saying, "Striving for the greater good is superior to settling for the lesser evil," but politically the choice always seems to be for the lesser evil that turns out to be the greater evil. Evil is evil; just a question of degree.

How then can God hear nothing but the cries of all the babies that are being k**led now. This was the start to a downward spiral for our society. The left wings will fight this thought about k*****g of babies they say they are not alive, THAT IS THE LIE FROM HELL.

Not only that, but again, we are our own worst enemy as we k**led some 54 Million babies since 1973 Roe v. Wade, but they would have grown to over 100 Million by now, one-third of buying consumers that would have constantly created more and more jobs. What no one seems to understand is God's ultimate Ponzi Scheme that when broken, results in Bernie Madoff geometrically multiplied. We did it to ourselves.

Wealth who has it and where did it come from ?

Some is inherited and the rest is hard work doing without all the play toys many would rather have .

A couple examples

# 1 I was raised on a farm and chose farming as my life's occupation farm two yrs out of high school then I was about to be drafted so I enlisted in the Air Force .

Four yrs later returned to the farm bought my first farm 120 acres taking possession Mar 1970 the first yr I cleared $1798 after expenses worked hard spent money on only what was needed nothing else and the 70's were great farming yrs.

Bought new tractor in 1977 a new combine 1978 and another 40 acres in 1979 then little jimmy C thought he'd play hard ball with the russkies and the following fall of the markets and 20% interest pertneer broke me.

All thru the 1980's with drought and low yields and skimping and saving brought another 70 acres and after 40 yrs am out of debt being a lot richer than some and not as rich as others !

# 2 My sister an RN / BIL a Machinist in LA living in Inglewood with the city going to pot they decided to leave so went to the high desert with 3 kids brought a business and said the first 5 yrs they almost starved to death skimped and save put everything they could like I did back into the business and today own and operate a large successful business

Now having said all that there will always be poor people some just can't help it some don't have the drive or desire to do what is necessary to acquire wealth .

Some would rather take from those that work save and skimp to better them selves and their families !

I don't mine helping those that really need help but I do mine when big brother takes from me and gives it to the lazy dudes that don't want to be a productive citizen.

Liberals are such hypocrites. You blast away at conservative fat cats while giving liberal fat cats a pass. Do the names Ted Turner, Warren Buffet, George Soros, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Larry Page have in common. They are all business leaders and they are all apart of the evil 1%. In fact 16 of the top 20 billionaires are liberal Democrats. Not one pays his FAIR SHARE OF TAXES as figured by the democrats. Warren Buffet talks about paying his FAIR SHARE OF TAXES as figured by democrats, but doesn't. Why doesn't he just send a check? The IRS will be grateful. Why do you think it is so terrible for a conservative to make money but not a liberal? Liberals run companies just as conservatives do and they also hire accountants that try to figure out ways to pay less taxes. Instead of wasting time complaining about conservatives not paying their FAIR SHARE OF TAXES as figured by democrats, why don't you see if you can figure out why liberals are not paying their FAIR SHARE OF TAXES as figured by democrats?

One other thing. At the moment it is Obama that is wanting to attack Syria. There is no proof of who did this. Tell me why we should bomb Assad's government troops which would help The Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda? These are the very people that attacked us on 9/11/2001. At this moment Obama is the war hawk.

your post had some good points , but what do you believe we as a country need to do to change the increasing wealth gap we are experiencing in this country

You asked the question and I offer you a answer that you will not particularly like but it's fact. There is only one way to close the gap between the wealthy and the lesser wealthy. I state it that way since we are the greatest country on Earth and enjoy the best living conditions in the known world. Now, having said that there is only one way to narrow the gap and that is to take advantage of the opportunities this great nation offers you and others fortunate enough to live here. You will never get rich working for someone else unless its a growing company and you have stock options or your fortunate enough and educated enough to climb the corporate ladder to higher paying positions. If your fortunate enough to fall into one of those categories, then great. For the others who are less fortunate one would ask where do I start, I say it doesn't matter. Just get off your ass and start somewhere, work harder than everyone else around you and do not settle for anything short of excellence in the performance of your duties. Obviously this applies to people in the private sector. As I said the only thing you have working for you is opportunity and self worth. The answer is right in front of you but you have to be smart enough to know where to start; anything else is settling for wages making a decent living and living what was the American dream. That's not all bad but it doesn't close the gap.You asked what we can do as a country to close the gap. It is not the country's duty to close the gap its a individuals responsibility to him/herself to decide whether or not you want to put the effort into joining the wealthy class because the OPPORTUNITY is always there. Anything else would be redistribution and that's been proven not to work numerous times throughout history. Like Henry Ford said if you want a example of how well the government will take care of you just look at the American Indians.

Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. We were in Egypt a year or so ago, and AJ was one of few stations in English. We watched a documentary on the US for profit prison system that was very informative, well done, well thought out, that made me homesick for what our new used to be.

Man, talk about a comment that likens itself to the sk**let calling the kettle black. Number one, you are the one spewing hatred and name calling here. Just where do you get off pointing fingers at anyone else. Number two, you have no idea of the financial records of any conservatives on this site so you cannot say that none of us will ever pay the top rate. How do you know that some of us don't already pay it? Why should you care if your boss makes a million a year as long as he pays you what you signed on to work for? The garbage you're spewing is what's causing the middle class to get smaller and smaller and to be unable to pay the exorbitant costs to the taxpayer for all the "entitlements" that liberals think should be given.

That's a heck of a story, but it's a story of what being a real American is all about. I worked several years for other people doing factory work, truck driving, and construction. After getting sick and tired of having to work by someone else rules, I had a chance to buy a small business from a guy who retired and now I'm the boss. My wife worked in retail and she also was s**k of the same thing I was, so she quit her job. My business is run by my wife and I, and even though we're far from rich, we are a lot happier working for ourselves. Wealth is not always about money, it's about personal happiness. If a person is working in a job they don't like, or their unemployed, it's up to them to make a change. Either look for a different career or go into business for yourself. If a person sits around all day and whines about how bad their life is and does nothing about it, their life will always suck. I once was told "it's better to try something and fail rather than do nothing and succeed." That has always stuck with me.
