There are a lot of young men out there like this guy. They feel powerless so they pick gun free zones where they can be a God. They are life's losers. They need to take out the winners so they can feel good about themselves.
This guy's father is blaming the guns. Well if you want to go that way, who did the kid live with? If the kid had problems why was he allowed to have access?

I do not believe the father was much involved at all with the raising of this kid. I think the mother will be answering a lot of questions regarding the guns this kid had access to.
There are similarities to Adam Lanza the Sandy Hook shooter. The chief difference seems to be that Lanza also murdered his mother.
A lack of strong father figures seems to be common.
