Here we go again! Another mass shooting at a school. Only this time, it's at a college. At least 10 dead and many more wounded. I'm sure the NRA is so proud; doing its upmost to stop any sort of gun reform legislation by crying the same old song, "The government's trying to take away our guns!"

From initial reports, the gunman had posted several messages stating that he was going to commit this act. That should take away the NRA's claim about the gunman being mentally unstable. His messages indicate "premeditation" on his part, not a mental illness.

It'll be interesting to hear what the rest of the story is, once the perp has been questioned and the investigation completed. From Columbine to Umpqua Community College, the US leads the world in the number of deaths due to mass k*****gs by civilians on civilians. Now, THAT'S a statistic the NRA and Mr. LaPierrie, should be forced to wear; like a "Scarlet Letter" around their neck.

No perp to be questioned he is deceased. I would like to know, what does it take...how many innocent people must die before changes are made. Instead of changing gun laws they will have public places behave as prisons. Every door will have metal detectors, doors locked, windows barred. One has to ask do we call that Freedom?

School shootings pale in comparison to what occurs on a daily basis in Chicago.

What gun law would have prevented this?

They use the NRA as a strawman. They have to blame something and it is handy.

Yea, typical coward tactic of the left, always have that agenda to push regardless of the situation.

-----------

Like I said in the OP, his actions were premeditated. He texted, to several people, what he was going to do BEFORE he committed his shootings. That trumps any claim to mental illness.

Crime has gone down in every state that has either open or concealed carry, so stiffer regulations are obviously not the answer,if you would care to test these statistics I will put a sign on my lawn stating Protected by Smith & Wesson and you put one in yours saying Gun Free Zone and we will see what happens, when you strip the citizenry of their second amendment rights how long do you think before the rest are stripped as well, our nations founders understood this, not one single statistic points to tighter regulation equals less gun violence, quite the opposite in fact, just ask the residents of Chicago,if you want to live in a society with an un-armed citizenry I suggest moving to Russia.

Possibly a simple change in age requirement.

Why can a person carry a gun that can k**l in one emotional second, but is considered to irresponsible to have a beer or glass of wine, even in his own home?

Atta boy, blame the NRA. F*cking liberals.

On the list of the top ten nations for mass shootings, the US is well behind 6 or 7 European nations where private gun ownership is, in most cases, forbidden.

And, in case you missed it, every mass shooter in the US so far has been found to be mentally disturbed and every one of them planned (pre-meditated) the k*****gs.

Harris and Klebold (Columbine), Loughner (Tuscon), Cho (VA Tech), Holmes (Aurora), Hasan (Ft Hood), Lanza (Newtown), Roof (Charleston), were all sick puppies and they all, to one degree or other, planned their attacks in detail.

Harris and Klebold, for example, produced both written journals and video documentation of their planned attack on the school. Moreover, they spent a lot of time in remote areas practicing with their illegally obtained weapons. They videoed these episodes and acted out the attacks. Holmes is another example. Cops found all kinds of "premeditation" in his apartment.

To think that a sociopath or criminal mind is incapable of premeditation is ludicrous.

Yesterday, in Chicago, a city with severely restrictive gun laws, 14 people were shot in as many hours. 9 of them k**led.

A mass shooting as defined by the FBI and general LE, is the shooting of 4 or more people at the same location in one incident.

Y'all probably are not aware of this either, or you don't want to admit it, but 5 of the deadliest mass shooting in US history occurred during Obama's first term--Sandy Hook, Birmingham Immigration Center, Fort Hood, Aurora, and Geneva County. And, there has been no calendar week without a mass shooting during Obama's 2nd term.

There have been more mass shootings on Obama's watch than any other president in our history. I wonder why. Shooting Tracker dot com

And you blame American gun owners and the NRA.

But, what can you say when your only source for your spin is HuffPo or the Daily Beast.
