Originally from Houston, my work caused me to move all over the Eastern U.S. countryside, so as of now I live in the Greensboro area of North Carolina. It's nice here: not too cold in winter, nor to hot in summer, and it's called the Piedmont Triad area, being in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Politically, I'm basically what I like to think of as a rational conservative. I try to think reasonably about any given issue, without the knee-jerk reaction that is often eng****red by any reference to religion/faith, ethnicity, or nationality.

While I am not a particularly religious person myself, I have no problem with anyone else's personal faith, so long as they do not attempt to proselytize me. Leave my personal beliefs alone, and I'll be happy to give yours the same respect.

I'll be around, but for a while, I'll probably be "lurking" mostly. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer, about two months ago, and now, after back surgery and radiotherapy, I'm in chemotherapy, so I have lots to occupy my thoughts.

Still, though, there will be times I'll pop up to see who I can aggravate, irritate, or otherwise just simply cause to totally blow their cool! Watch for me!

Are you using Moses Cone or Baptist Medical, otherwise known to us old school as Wake Forrest Medical?

Cone - through an Oncology Group at Wesley Long. I'm actually living at home now, but I go in for the chemo treatment weekly.
