That men do more stupid things than women do is because men are more daring and take much longer to develop any judgement at all That is why women must make the important decisions, those things like who to marry and how to raise children. We have the judgement and the wisdom. Men have the guts and boldness and courage. Both are necessary to keep a society going, and vital to raising a family.

Tossing a shell or rocket is not especially dangerous. Remember that the launch of the projectile will usually have more impact than dropping it would. The shell needs to be armed before it can explode. The arming is accomplished at firing, in the case of a mortar shell by the impact of firing.
