Funny how the fact that a government shutdown actually effects only 17% of all federal government workers. Everything else is considered essential. I sure wish the t***h would get out there for all to see. THe only way to actually hurt the average American during a shutdown is if the executive branch picks and chooses things to shut down to infurate the v**ers. A recent example is the President shutting down outdoor monuments like the Vietnam Wat Memorial the last time. It is time to let this dictator in chief know Americans have had more than enough crap from this guy who is fundamentally t***sforming America into another 3rd world hell hole with his Socialist/Marxists plans and ideas. We have no buisness funding Plan Parrent Hood or more funding obama care which is costing many Americans to actually lose the good coverage they once had and at a higher premium we can't pay.Its just a little spoiled boy not getting his way again.Just wait and see what happens if congress v**es down obama's Iran Deal. Bring out the paper towels.

Right you are, we should find out in just a fews days how this plan of obama's is going to go down.. I personally think that congress/senate and others will cave to obama's wishes and a pocket full of l**t to the unjust.

To me a government shut down means the Congress is either to stupid to make a decision or to gutless to stand up for their so-called convictions. A government shut down is a waste of money and a stupid political ploy. Reminds me of a two year holding his breath until he gets what he want.

To me, a government shut down is the ONLY time I feel safe from Congress' passing oppressive laws that accomplish nothing but pain for me and more money for them to squander.
Government shut downs would be IMPORTANT if the ENTIRE GOVERNMENT WENT HOME. THE ONLY HARM IT WOULD DO TO CITIZENS IS THAT RETIREES, MILITARY AND SS RECIPIENTS WOULDN'T BE GETTING THEIR CHECKS. If we could get government money out of bureaucrats hands and into the hands of honest citizens, then we could close the government permanently and lose exactly NOTHING.

Of course they'll cave. They always do. Even when they don't cave right away, eventually they do - and that is an embarrassment to us all. I'm tired of our government and think we should consider dreaming up a better way of administering our nation.

Tasine, your plan sounds nice but this now Government Machine is just to big and corrupt to allow any such thing to happen. With the middle class pretty much taken out of the picture it leaves the lower income class citizen who have no extra money or jobs for that matter to try and turn this nation around by ourselves..The rich don't want to bother or waste there time.

It shouldn't be long now until our lenders quit lending to the U.S. Our nation will be on its own. When all the markers for all the borrowing our Congress has done start coming in, it won't be long until our nation declares bankruptcy. When that happens, there will be nothing with which to pay our politicians. How many of them do you think will remain on the job sans any pay? I say NONE will. We will have no government, and that will be the first day we will have ever been free. We can make the most of it or we can wring our hands. Government is a burden, not a thing to welcome with open arms. Government is about NOTHING except FORCE. Free men do not welcome FORCE.

I agree, it's a tissue of lies. ie.. "We will close the "Donut Hole", or so-called gap. Bulls**t. My donut hole went from $2500 to $4700.

The Gov. has turned into a huge crimminal empire , they hold us hostage with threats and intemindation, punishment when we do not fall in line. The olny way out is to refuse to pay , peacefully throw them out or by force if nessesary!

I am thinking of instead of calling this government 'the federal government', I shall refer to it as the 'federal mafia', it's more descriptive, more accurate, and hopefully embarrassing to those within it.
