I consider myself an independent and move forward issue by issue and not by party dogma. I like talking to people from both sides of the fence, mostly due to the fact I enjoy learning new things and weigh differences before making a decision. I will appreciate hearing from all perspectives, and making some friends.

Welcome, northernlights. I too am an Independent. I came on this sight to hear different opinions on the difficulties facing our country. I have at times learned a few things, been very angry and found many friends. What I have never been is bored. I believe you will find everyone on this site truly loves this country, we just differ on how to move forward. I look forward to your posts and getting to know you.

Hopefully the anger goes away but the friendships remain. No one of us has all, or even a majority of the correct ideas, but those who are working at it need to share our ideas calmly and civilly.

The anger is fleeting. More like, " I can't believe you said that." The friendships are very much appreciated. You are correct in we need to share our ideas calmly and civilly. I enjoy the opinions of others. I have even learned a thing or two on this site. On a few occasions I have even had my faith in my fellow man strengthened.
