Well the calander just flipped over to Sept 1 2015 and whether you are in the camp that the end will be the 13th or the 23rd or even the 24th the countdown has officially begun. Now in these waining days I thought we could discuss what the end might look like so we know when we see it. I also thought we might--well, just reflect--and discuss the qualities of life that has made life such a wonder. Now for what the end will look like I will leave that to those who predict it--but please do tell us so that we will know. I would h**e for time to tick by and the end having occured and we not know it. So will the end be in the form of a stock market calamity with broke brokers jumping from the rafters or are we talking biblical with horses charging down mainstreet with bolts of lightening flashing from their arse! Or hell maybe it will be a little of both and we could see bolts of lightening coming from broke brokers arses as they plunge to thier deaths. And of course we will be talking about death won't we? Will Sici and Steve have their dreams come true and the civil war finally begin? Maybe it will be they who are charging down mainstreet on their trusty steeds dropping us evil liberals with mighty blows delivered from their arses!

Now for what we will miss--for me it will be mostly my wife but also my children and my darling little grandchild. After that it will be my flowers and the flurry of hybridizing for two or three months out of the year. Over these past few years there has been no greater pleasure than putting around in my garden. And last, what I will miss is finding my Ford F100 PickUp once again. You see, way back when, I had a 55 that I had lovingly restored to near mint condition and then as part of a nasty breakup I let it go to HER as part of me being the 'good guy', man was that ever a mistake. Ever since I had longed for another 55 but just never found where time and money come together to deliver me another one. Well, this year that was going to change and I have been in an active hunt ever since. So now the question is whether it is too late or should I keep looking right up to the end? Of course, if it is the end why waste the money--and if it is the end why not? Certainly nothing to loose.

So there you have it. This is our last thread--or maybe not--so lets discuss anything we like. This is the last of our lives so now, I guess, the question all comes down as to whether it was all worth it? So what say you? Anyone...

Ah, the great words of Jim Morrison..."This is the end...". If I'm dead, I guess I won't miss anything? I'm pretty sure, at least in my mind, that once you leave consciousness, you really don't miss anything. Now if somehow, this is the end of the world, as we know it, and we are somehow still alive, I guess I'll just go play Golf. Steve700, by all means, tell us what it is going to be like. But most of all, don't forget to meet us, back here, on the internet, on Oct. 1st. We'll have much to discuss. I'm guessing we'll primarily be discussing which psychiatric professionals you should seek out.

So sorry for your loss. ;)
It would be a plus to know what to look for, wouldn't it?
We know that all this preparedness will avert the danger, still there will be glimmers of the dangers descending upon us, won't there?

I think your loss is not becoming a writer, and perhaps ours too.

Well it may not be in Sept. But the fact is the mortality rate is 100 % no matter where you live.

It is appointed once for man to die, then after that the judgement.

No one knows the future, I do however believe we have seen the best and very well could be heading for the worst; humanly speaking.

You are welcome to believe anything as we all are.
It is appointed? Only for those who buy that line of religions. Good luck.

If they run out of oxygen they will become part of the 100% club.
If they step out of their little hut and special suits, they just might see God.

High Flight

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

— John Gillespie Magee, Jr
