He survived everything. Except time.

He survived rat poison, a run in with a bobcat, a pit bull, multi skunks, horse kicks, and rattlesnakes. He has been Mrs. Bunker's shadow for the past 15 1/2 years. He had a small body, the heart of a lion, and would fight anything that came between him, and her. Including me. He just couldn't whip old age.
We have a hole in our world now that seems bottomless. We have laid him to rest, and pray that he is at peace, and pain free. He will be sorely missed.

It is devastating to lose a pet that is such a loyal companion -- a companion who gives unconditional love. My heart hurts for you, but know that he will be waiting for you in heaven with a ball in his mouth, his tail wagging, just waiting to play fetch 😊

Mr. B consider you and Mrs. B held and hugged as closely as my arms allow.

The loss of fifteen and a half years of great love is not a hole in your world but a crater. :( :-(

My deepest condolences to your wife and yourself Archie. I know what it is like to lose your best and truest friend. It is never easy. It is such a shame that their lives are so relatively short.

Archie, I'm very sorry to read of the loss of your and Mrs B's dearly loved pet. We understand your loss, totally. It'll take time for the hole to heal over. But, with time, it wil.

We lost one of our bichon friezes (Lilly) last year. She was a "rescue," yet we loved her just as much as if we'd had her since she was a pup. We had 3 loving years with her.

Know, too, that if there is a "doggie-Heaven," that he is there, having a grand time. Perhaps he and Lilly are up there chasing squirrels together. That would be a lovely sight!

If our dogs are not waiting on us in heaven, then they need to change the name. My sympathies. I miss Sarah more than most of my family that have passed.

Many condolences. I miss my several dogs who all died of old age. My last dog Collette died a year ago. I don't want to do it again. Not ready.

Having lost two long-time companions in the last year and one more on her last legs, I understand, Arch. You & Mrs. 'B' have my deepest sympathies...take care. He will wait, faithfully, for your re-entry into his life...however long that takes. Hopefully, that will be many years down the road. :-( Lon

Thank all of you for your kind words. My wife's aunt sent her this poem. I thought it was wonderful.

We can tell that the other two dogs miss him as well. Gypsy keeps going to the place where Sampson slept beside the bed and looking for him. They were buddies. That makes it even sadder for me. Time will make it better though.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I too know of that empty space in your heart. I wish I had the words to heal your pain, but just know that he is waiting for you on the other side. We just passed the one year anniversary of the loss of our best friend, and sometimes while food shopping, I still stop to think if we have enough dog food for the week. I hope your heart heals quickly...

Arch, we are so sorry for the loss of your buddy. We have had those lumps in our throats and tears flowing several times. The day will come when all your memories will bring smiles and happy thoughts. We know how you and the Mrs feel. Sue & Glen

What a sweet little Corgi. Yes, you miss him terribly, but dwell on the good times you had with him, remember that dogs are God's special gift to us, and god gave you a very special one.

my deepest sympathies Arch
losing a dog that you have loved and has loved you in return
is like losing one of your own children
that dog was family
I know that
I also know that there is a place in heaven
for our beloved dogs

Thank you Armi, Npp, and BB! These other two are kinda jacked up too. Nicki has the week off from work. She has spent the day, today h*****g out with her mother. When I came home, Gus, and Gypsie ran out of the gate, around, and around the car, and up and down the road. When I finally got them to come in, they won't eat their treats, or food. Gus is pacing, Gypsy is laying by the door, looking at the door, then at me.
Every day, when I say "Let's go feed Buster." They light up, and fly out the door as fast as they can. I have said it twice now, and they just look at me, and the door. They are worried that Nicki isn't coming home.
I have petted, loved on, and reassured them, but they don't understand. Nic will be home shortly. I bet she gets mauled with doggy love when she walks in!!
There is now nothing that can convince me that dogs don't feel grief!
