Two Traveling Angels ( this one will make you
think twice!!) Keep reading to the bottom of the page -- don't stop
at the feet (You'll see).

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.

The family was rude and refused to let the
angels stay in the
mansion's guest room.

Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied,

"Things aren't always what they seem"

The next night the pair came to rest at the
house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.

After sharing what little food they had the
couple let the angels
sleep in their bed where they could have a good
night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears.

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the
older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had
everything, yet you helped him, she accused.

The second family had little but was willing to
share everything, and you let the cow die..

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older
angel replied.

"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion,
I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't
find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
the angel of death came for his wife I gave him the cow instead.

Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when
things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just
need to trust that every out come is always to your advantage. You
just might not know it until some time later...

I sent it out, as well. Actually, some of my OPP Friends received it via email; however, there were more then a few I wanted to have it (I did not have their emails.); hence, my posting it.

I am hopeful some, who are on the prayer list, will see it and feel the sentiment.

Sorry, I am going to have to be a pain in the butt, for everything is not as it seems. Punishing the avarice couple by "hiding" that gold is not the stuff of angels or Christians, in my eyes; it is deception. Killing a cow to keep that woman from heaven means cherishing the worldly over God. We do not know the real ending to this story, whether losing their only source of income created great hardship and suffering, possibly causing both to stumble in order to survive.

When my uncle lost all hope, it was only then, back against the wall and no way out, that he opened to an other-worldly possibility. Hope can as easily lead to violence as to stoic resolve.

For those who know they have burned every bridge and live without any saving grace, there is nobody in this world that offers some solace or hope--and that is good, for only then is Christ the answer!

Rumi is welcome any time, as long as he can work past his pain and hatred and make comments that reflect the old Rumi that many people liked a lot. When his destructive responses got the better of him, the rest of us gave up, except for PMs, in trying to communicate with him, as his emotional pain got in the way of any real conversations. Please do pass it on.
