So very true! We need to raise the minium wage so it keeps up with inflation. It is criminal that people work so hard for so very little. My sister is a retired letter carrier and wanted to get a job at home depot to fill her time, especially during the winter. She was offered 8 an hour, along with an anti-union discussion, and she took the job. It only offered part time, and they would do stuff like send her home after 3 hours, and then ask her to drive back to work for another two hours later in the day. 8 buck an hour, gas is 3.50 a gallon and they were askind for two round trips a day. She quit, of course, but what about people who cannot quit? HD has NO full time jobs. American companies used to feel an obligation to shareholders, employees, and community, but now it is ONLY Shareholders. It is not the America we grew up in.

It has been getting harder and harder to get out of poverty when you are born into it. Today, the entry-level positions of yesterday are the stay-where-you-are jobs of today. More and more (actually, most) companies and corporations are no longer promoting from within.
I am constantly hearing form people who have five to ten years or more experience on the job having to train someone with no knowledge of the area of business to be their boss.

Do you really believe a large company like Home Depot has no full time jobs? Can you tell us when it was that American companies willingly paid workers more than the value of the work performed, or even when they paid more than what the market commanded? I've been working for over 50 years now, and I'm not aware of where these wonderful companies ever were.

What evidence have you that it is harder to get out of poverty than it once was? Why do you think any company would not promote from within? Why would a company have a 5 to 10 year employee train their boss? Apply a little logic to what you think is going on and you might realize what you think isn't what is real.

I've had to do it several times. My wife has had to do it. My son has done it. All our friends have done it. It's S.O.P. now.

Not sure what "it" is, but then I understand my questions were difficult.

Try reading your own question. " Why would a company have a 5 to 10 year employee train their own boss?"
Then you would know what "it" is.
I mean, if you Republicans can't even remember the question, how are you ever going to come up with the answers.

Try reading what I wrote and counting how many questions I asked. And if you think what you wrote answer the question of why, you are close to functionally illiteracy.

As to the comment about Republicans, you can't be talking about me because I am an ex-Democrat who choose to become independent.

Mine is about the same - however only a fool would think stating that is a valid response - what you've shown is that, if your IQ is what you say it is, you've wasted your natural resource.

Go back, read the questions I posed regarding your post - then read the subsequent posts of yours and see it you can recognize the non sequitors of yours -and if you can't, instead of p***e in your IQ you should feel shame for wasting wh**ever native intelligence you might have had.

Duh I was responding to your insults. It's strange that that's all you right-wingers are capable of. No intelligent discussion. No rational. No ideas. Just insults.
I notice you didn't answer the question I asked you. Maybe you didn't understand. What is your I.Q.? Close is not an answer.

About the same is all I'd offer - your inability to even recognize you never answered a single question I posed yet ask me for a more precise answer to your irrelevant question - and if you'd read again what we've both posted you'd recognize you were the first with the personal insults - but as a liberal I know you think yourself entitled to sling at others but too delicate to have it slung back to you.l

If you think you answered a single one of these questions, somebody lied to you big time telling you you have an IQ of 146, and you are the i***t. Perhaps you need someone with an open mind to read over the posts and show you reality - I give up.
